Quick fix for a tight stay
Quick fix for a tight stay
ServiceI was skeptical at check-in. Tiny room felt tight, coffee helped. Staff sorted extra rooms fast — used for work trip.

ServiceI went in with sore lower back and zero expectations, but mid-stay that night I actually sighed — the mattress really helped, no more tossing. Staff fixed a tiny mix-up fast, and that small gesture sold me. Was pleasantly surprised, honestly.
Danube weekend — nicer than we expected

Servicenine of us, one stag, a pile of luggage and a taxi driver who looked like he’d seen worse — that was our arrival. Right away the front desk did something I didn’t expect: they fixed a booking mix-up without the usual sighing and paperwork dance. Big relief. The concierge actually became our unofficial tour planner — he knew every taxi driver by name and somehow timed pickups so we didn’t stand around freezing, which was a weirdly huge deal for us. The spa was a pleasant surprise too — four pools, sauna and a gym included, and I didn’t think I’d be spending a hangover morning in chlorinated bliss, but there you go. Breakfast had enough choices to satisfy the whole chaotic crew, and the discounted-rate sign-up saved us a bunch compared to the listed price. We were in the slightly older wing, nothing fancy, a bit dated, but honestly for a weekend like ours it felt fine — kind of lived-in, in a good way. There’s a proper classy side to the hotel with live music and fine dining if you want to slow down and pretend you’re cultured; we mostly didn’t, but it was fun to peek. Compared to other hotels where staff are aloof or always “too busy”, these folks were chatty and helpful, almost mates by day three. Not perfect — some decor could use an update — but the team and the unexpected spa-time really made the trip memorable.

Servicereception handed me a guest questionnaire I never got around to returning, someone called me the wrong name more than once (oddly formal, then suddenly clueless), and the food felt more like a basic food hall some days. The medical spa start was rough too — the first doc seemed rushed and didn't really pinpoint my issue, which led to an awkward first round of treatments. Staff can be prickly: they fussed if I was five minutes late but kept me waiting themselves, and a trainer made a snide comment about socks so I didn't go back to that room. Even the PR person wasn't the warmest. But — and this matters — after I spoke up things improved. A different therapist paid real attention, the follow-up was better, and a few front-desk staff were downright helpful and friendly. Rooms were comfortable, the price felt fair for what I got, and overall I left glad I'd given it a shot. I'm grateful it wasn't as bad as I feared, and I actually recommended other hotels in the complex to a friend. If I can, I'll try again next summer — hoping those rough edges keep getting fixed.

ServiceThe hotel really needs to step up their game, especially when you compare it to those fancy 5-star hotels in Europe and Asia. The food and drinks were just average, and don't even get me started on the health spa - total letdown. And some of the staff were kind of rude, to be honest. They definitely need to up their service game overall.
