ServiceWeirdly, I cared more about support than the install itself. My McAfee ran out, so I grabbed this. License arrived fast — email instant, easy download. It ran fine for about three months, then it started acting up. Support? Not helpful. One tech basically said pay $100 and we’ll look. So I ended up poking around and fixing it myself, which was annoying but also kinda satisfying. I started eyeing Webroot after that because their tech line sounded more solid. In the end the app works now, but I’m cautious. Quick delivery, poor service — heads up. I’ve had better luck with Norton before, honestly. Support needs a reset, frankly.

ComplaintsI tried the service for a month and it felt like walking on thin ice — works okay sometimes, then a surprise charge. I cancelled, thought that was it, but they kept trying to pull money (five attempts on my account), which set off a fraud alert and I had to get a replacement card. Using the product is fine when it runs, but that billing behaviour makes it unusable for me; you don't trust it anymore. Their support was basically nonexistent, unlike other providers I’ve had that at least answer. Small detail? No — it's the whole experience.

ServiceBy the time I realised it, the damage was done. I signed up after seeing slick TV ads and thinking fine, why not — then had a security incident and no real help. Support told me over the phone they couldn't help and I had to take my machine to a repair shop, which felt like a shrug. Then an automated email said no refunds after 30 days, even though I was mid-contract and cancelling; sounded like a robot wrote it, which, well, it probably did. I first saw the service on TV and I even told a neighbour about it (I told them to be careful). I'm annoyed more than anything — annoyed at the process, the silence, that automated reply.
Unexpected mess after a simple scan

CommunicationI’m pretty disappointed right now. I started using PCMatic a few weeks ago and at first it seemed fine — clean interface, quick setup — so I thought, okay, this will do. Then one day a full scan got stuck around 25% and sat there for 17 hours. I contacted “Expert” support and the first tech couldn’t fix it, told me to remove version 5 and gave me a link to install version 4. I did that and things only got worse. Over several days different techs tried a few more fixes, none worked. They keep sending step-by-step emails that don’t match what’s on my screen because I’m now running that old version they had me install. PCMatic advertises phone support but I haven’t actually been able to get anyone on the phone — it’s all email and canned replies. I do still like some parts of the program, so I’m not totally writing it off, but right now I have no working scan and it’s frustrating. A real phone call, just once, would’ve helped a lot.
Not perfect, but not a disaster

App & PortalI'm actually glad I gave this a shot, even if I ended up annoyed a few times. I use the software on my laptop for work and on my iPhone for casual stuff—banking, streaming the odd show, and podcasts while I commute. The snag is the VPN: it blocks my bank login unless I turn it off, which is exactly when I want protection, right? So yeah, that’s frustrating. On the phone I was told I can't stream while the VPN's on, and the workaround they offered was literally "turn it off, watch, then turn it back on" — not great. Customer support wasn't able to help me much and refunds were a no-go, which left a sour taste. On the plus side, it doesn't hog my system, setup was straightforward, and I learned how to quickly toggle things when needed, so it’s manageable day-to-day. I'm relieved it didn’t break anything and that I can still use it for basic protection, but if you need seamless banking/streaming behind a VPN, look around first.

CommunicationI was staring at the call log my bank sent me, the one with a phone number that actually connected, and I left a calm but firm voicemail. Weirdly satisfying. We’d signed up months earlier because a neighbour — honestly, a friend — told us about this product and we liked that it said “Made in the USA” on the site. That mattered to us, it still does. For a while it felt fine, like supporting something local and straightforward. Then the surprises started: a $211.44 withdrawal when the advertising said different, then a notice that our machines weren’t covered anymore with no refund for the unused time. We emailed, called numbers that went nowhere, tried every route. It was the slow drip of attempts and silence that finally pushed me to act. Leaving that voicemail wasn’t glamorous, but it was the moment I knew I wasn’t going to quietly accept it. I’m relieved we pushed back, partly because we value the principle — made-in stuff matters to us — and partly because standing up felt right. That doesn’t change the bad bits: weak customer contact, confusing billing, and a feeling they didn’t honour what they promised. Still, there’s a bit of closure now. If they want better reviews, hire people who pick up phones and actually solve problems. I’d tell friends to be cautious, and to keep a close eye on bank statements.
