Referral link failed, phone worked — kind of

Service

I almost didn’t buy because the referral link my friend sent just went to an error page. I tried it a couple times, then phoned support and ended up on hold for about half an hour. They admitted the link was broken, which was disappointing, but the agent did offer to apply the $20 discount if I placed the order over the phone. That was a bit surprising — nice that they could do it, but I still prefer online shopping and the whole thing felt unnecessarily messy. My doubt about their site remains. If you’re tempted, call first, and please, fix the promo emails so people don’t waste time.

Missing accessories, mixed feelings

Delivery

Bought the Ninja Woodfire after seeing a Daily Express deal and fired it up the weekend I got it. The grill itself feels solid, cooks nicely and the wood-smoke flavour is legit — a good unit for backyard use. Problem is the promised free cover and stand never arrived, and customer support won't honour the offer. It's usable but frustrating; I'd hoped for better after previous purchases.

When the tracking finally moved

Tracking

communication could be better, and that return rule is weird. Product works now. Other companies have been worse.

Replacement shuffle with shipping mix-up

Service

Bought a Shark IQRobot with a lifetime warranty. The unit showed an error code after a few uses. The support line asked me to call, so I did. After basic troubleshooting they said they'd replace it and I should get the new unit in 5–7 business days. No tracker by day eight, so I called again. They reissued the order and sent a tracking number. Next day I got another email saying the order was cancelled because shipping wasn't paid. Shipping had been waived under the warranty. They cancelled it anyway. I called back and was told, again, that this time the replacement would be sent. The back-and-forth is tiring. Other companies I've dealt with usually sort this faster. It's not great but the reps try. I'll wait the promised seven business days and update.

Discount code dance

Price

I’d been hunting for a good upright vacuum and finally spotted a Shark Ninja with a promo code listed right on the site. I punched in STRATOS130, got the discount, clicked buy and felt smug. Two days later I get an email saying my order was cancelled — something about a “technical glitch” with the code. Sigh. They sent a token 10% code to make up for it, but told me to reorder using STRATOS130 (only now the discount is smaller) and the extra 10% won't stack. So basically I either accept less, or use the small consolation, or... nothing. Customer service was polite but vague — they couldn't guarantee STRATOS130 wouldn't be changed again. That part annoyed me the most: publish a code, honor it, don’t pull the rug. If anyone's about to use that code, take a screenshot of the price and email them immediately, or call first. I like the product line, so I might try again someday, but right now I’m wary.

The moment it finally clicked

Product

30, coffee half-drunk, and for a second I just watched it work — that’s the moment I knew I was actually happy with the purchase. I bought it a couple of months ago and at first I liked everything: sleek look, easy controls, and it did what it promised right away. Then, annoyingly, the base started acting up after a few weeks — same little hiccup I’d seen in other reviews. I was annoyed and started the whole support dance. Okay, the response wasn’t perfect, they were slow to acknowledge the pattern, and there were a few back-and-forths that felt like treading water. But once they shipped a replacement part and I set it up, the unit ran smooth and quiet, and I breathed out. So yes, not flawless — still a bit wary — but the product itself performs really well now. The real turning point was that first run after the fix: consistent power, no weird stops, just steady performance. That’s when I felt confident enough to recommend it to a friend. Would I buy again? Probably, but I’d keep an eye on service times. Overall pleased, with a caveat about support speed.

Mostly hands-off, with caveats

Product

navigation sounded good on paper, but I kept expecting it to get stuck, to miss corners, to do the usual robot things. In practice it maps rooms well and rarely gets trapped. Suction is solid for daily dust and light pet hair; heavier clumps need a follow-up, though. The catch is the upkeep — the brush roller needs hands-on cleaning more often than I hoped, and yes, sometimes it takes two passes to pick up all the fur. So it’s not a miracle worker, but it saves me actual time compared to manual vacuuming. If you have pets, the self-emptying feature is what makes it worthwhile. My tip: accept that you’ll still do occasional maintenance and check the roller now and then — it keeps performance steady.

That sigh of relief when it actually got sorted

Communication

phone calls, an email that bounced, being redirected to Shark International who in turn pointed me back to the UK team. It was messy and felt like being sent in circles. The turning point for me was when Amazon stepped in and offered a replacement while they sorted the warranty side — that’s literally when I relaxed. The replacement arrived within a week, works fine, and Amazon confirmed they’d deal with Shark about the mismatch in advice. So yeah, not perfect: the first response from Shark was confusing, communication lagged, and I had to chase them. But in daily life the vacuum now does what I need — pet hair, crumbs, quick corner clean-ups — and knowing Amazon handled the swap made the whole thing acceptable. If you’re buying, double-check regional warranty details and keep receipts, but if something goes wrong Amazon’s support might be the safety net you need.
