GeekSquad Service or lack thereof
Computer internet wifi card stopped working while stores were closed due to the pandemic. Had to purchase geeksquad membership only to be told that I had to wait until stores reopened for servicing or had to ship my computer myself to their location for servicing. No suggestions were offered by the tech. Needed my computer for work desperately thus found my own solution - used ethernet cable. Spent $. Went to store once store reopened and was told to buy wifi microusb adapter - sales person helped select since tech was refusing to help select. No help for GeekSquad. Was told that other solution would be ship have them ship and diagnose computer ($80) with more $ spent if need repair. Called to cancel my membership since could not do so in store. Told that over a month in my yearly membership, which I bought because of this issue, thus can't cancel. Can only refund me for a month. Have to wait almost a year to remember to cancel since it doesn't do so automatically. No refund possible. Worse plan. Techs were not helpful at all. Not shopping at Best Buy again.
