well, at least it’s wrapped neatly. I’d sent in my HD650 because one side had a flaky connection — cable to an internal spiral, simple enough, I thought. I found the repair option on Sennheiser’s support page and had even tipped a coworker to use their service before I sent mine in. The turnaround time was slow, emails were sparse, but they did send the official estimate: replace everything for €210. That felt odd — replacing both drivers, cable and all pads when one driver was fine — but okay, maybe they found other faults I couldn’t see. What really rubbed me the wrong way was the handling of a refusal: pay €50 diagnostic fee and either pay to get the headset back or they’ll recycle it. Charging you to say no felt like a heavy-handed policy. Delivery itself wasn’t terrible — the package arrived intact and surprisingly came with the pads replaced and a tiny handwritten note from the tech. That little note and the neat re-foam actually surprised me, in a good way. Customer service? Patchy. Helpful on paperwork, quiet on the actual decisions. Price? Rough compared to what I paid years ago for the set. In the end I paid the €210 reluctantly — it works now, feels fresh, but I’d warn others: try sourcing parts yourself or watch a guide first. Saves money and hassle, and you avoid that awkward diagnostic charge if you change your mind.
