Bought for asthma, ended up mixed results
Bought for asthma, ended up mixed results
ProductI bought these because my partner has asthma and our apartment is dusty from renovations. I was unsure — price was low and reviews mixed — but went ahead. Bought two monitors and a pack of masks. Indoor unit overheated and the back fell off, outdoor one stopped working after about a year. Masks kept dust out but were hard to breathe in. Not perfect, some use but mostly disappointing.

ServiceI actually felt pretty good about this setup for the first few months — both the indoor and outdoor monitors behaved and their readings matched my other sensor, so I figured, hey, this is working. That was the moment I was satisfied. Lately the outdoor unit keeps dropping offline though; only a power cycle brings it back. Support kept saying it's a Wi‑Fi problem, but the signal sits around 80–90% and nearby devices never blink, so that excuse didn't land for me. I tried patience, called twice, waited on hold — kind of frustrating. They refused an exchange and suggested plugging in Ethernet, which kind of misses the whole point of a wireless outdoor monitor. I'm switching back to my AirGradient for now; decent hardware originally, poor follow-up support.

Returns & RefundsI’d skip this one. I bought the air monitor a few weeks ago and right away I realized setup was a mess — YouTube made it look easy but the app kept failing and pairing took ages. To be fair, the sensor itself seems okay and the readings looked consistent, so I had a bit of hope. But getting help is the worst part: I sent multiple messages asking for a return label and heard nothing. That’s the kicker, it’s not just finicky — the company disappears when you need them. I’m leaning toward an AMEX chargeback unless they finally respond. It’s frustrating, really.
Sudden spike, slow replies

Productcame quickly, well boxed, no issues there. The problem started later with what looks like server-side data errors; PM1/2.5/10 all rose in lockstep and the readings stopped making sense. I reached out to support a few times and got nothing back — no acknowledgement, nothing. That silence is the worst part; it turned something that had been reliable into something useless overnight. Small positive: the app and setup were straightforward and the hardware looked solid, so for local use it had been excellent before the outage. Bottom line — good delivery and product feel, but the customer service and data reliability killed it for me.
Quiet machine, clunky website

App & PortalThe unit sits in my living room and hums — honestly I forget it's there until I notice I don't wake up with a scratchy throat anymore, which was a nice surprise. I've been trying to get into my IQAir account for months to use loyalty awards, and today I finally called. Spent over an hour on the phone, lots of waiting, the rep kept saying they couldn't fix it, the supervisor wasn't answering, and their best suggestion was to try a different browser. I did, of course — no luck. Frustrating because the GC series itself is great (quiet, really effective) and I use it every day, in the bedroom and while I work from home. I was actually looking forward to redeeming points for extra filters, so that felt like a small win that got taken away. Small things matter — if support followed up properly I'd stay, but right now I'm wavering.
Worth the dust filter fuss — mostly

PriceI almost talked myself out of buying one — the sticker shock is real. I kept thinking, do I need a $900-ish machine that eats $300 filters like they're snacks? But after a couple of months with one (and then another, because apparently once you start you go all in), my nagging doubts about performance pretty much evaporated. The air actually feels different in the room — fewer dusty smells, less morning sneezing — and yeah, that made me a bit smug, which is not something I admit often.
Expensive IQ Air Health Pro/Plus
Expensive IQ Air Health Pro/Plus
Returns & RefundsI recently bought the IQ Air Health Pro/Plus air purifier, which is pretty pricey at $900 and needs filters costing over $300 each time to replace. Even though it’s expensive to maintain, it does a good job at cleaning the air, that’s why I got a few units. But I was let down by the customer service when I asked for a warranty replacement for worn rubber seals on two trays, which should have been covered under the 10-year warranty. Even though I gave them all the info they needed, the company said no to the warranty and it made me question if they really back up their products and care about keeping customers happy. This whole thing has made me think twice about recommending this brand and I might not suggest it to others in the future.

ServiceThis company's tech support is just terrible, and their system is so buggy. I've been trying to get help through support tickets, online chat, even emailed the big bosses, and still nothing. It's a total mess.
Bought air quality sensor
Bought air quality sensor
App & PortalThe website is just all about making money! They're saying Marseille has an ozone pollution alert today based on the prefect's order, but they're claiming the air quality is good on their site. You can double-check by chipping in and purchasing an air sensor for 320€! Personally, I think it's a total scam.
Air monitors and masks purchased
Air monitors and masks purchased
ProductSo, like, I got these two air monitors, eh? One was for inside the house, and the other was for outside. I also picked up some masks, ya know? Well, the one for inside got crazy hot, I was sure it was gonna start melting or something! And then the back just fell right off! The outdoor monitor, it just conked out on me, like, out of nowhere. And those masks, oh man. They were supposed to keep out dust, but I couldn't even breathe with them on! And get this, I bought all this stuff just a little over a year back!
