New countertops

Service

My trip to the hardware store was actually pretty good this time. The salesperson there was super helpful and helped me find the perfect countertops for my house. I ended up going with Dekton, which I hadn't heard of before, but the salesperson knew all about it and showed me all the different options. I found one that I absolutely loved and got the measurements done right away. They gave me a quote quickly and scheduled the installation. The installation went really well, and the guy they recommended was awesome - he even took care of some plumbing stuff, like installing my garburator. Nardene kept checking in to make sure everything was going smoothly, which was great. I'm really happy with how everything turned out - my new countertops look fantastic.

Lightbulb purchase

Service

On Sunday, I went to Home Hardware on Wellington St. because I needed a specific lightbulb. I looked for it for about 10 minutes, but couldn't find it. I asked three employees in the paint section for help, but they just sent me to customer services. The people at customer services weren't very helpful - they just laughed and told me to look on the shelves again. Even though I saw two employees not doing anything, nobody offered to help me. I was really disappointed with the lack of customer service and professionalism at this store. It's hard to support local businesses when they treat customers like that.

Home renovation supplies

Service

When I was at Home Hardware, the staff really blew me away with their knowledge and expertise. I gotta say, especially the younger employees knew their stuff and gave me all the details I needed on the products I was checking out. Like, I asked about a specific type of wood and they didn't even hesitate, just gave me all the specifics. But hey, there was a little blip when one of the older staff members couldn't find something I needed even though it was right in front of him. No big deal though, another older employee was super helpful when I needed a plumbing part and offered me a bunch of options to choose from. That kind of service is what makes me keep coming back to that store. Now, when it comes to the Kingsville location, I've heard some negative stuff from others. People are saying that the service quality went down since the ownership changed hands. Apparently, this dude named Fred, who used to be a star for his customer service, is no longer there. Because of that, I've been steering clear of the Kingsville store. I just really appreciate having staff who know their stuff and can help me out efficiently, you know?

Unusual plumbing fitting

Service

Today, I went to the hardware store to find this really strange plumbing part, and I honestly didn't think they would have it. But Wayne, the guy working there, came to the rescue and found it really quickly in the plumbing section. The store was full of so much stuff, and I was really happy that they had what I needed!

Toilet and lumber

Service

Port Hope Home Hardware is just not cutting it for me. I bought a toilet from there and had to wait forever for someone to help me load it onto a cart. When I finally sorted that out, I bought some lumber, and the yard worker gave me the wrong stuff! When I called to fix the mistake, they told me I had to go back to the store to chat with the yard worker because the lumber I got wasn't even in their system! What a mess! Plus, the prices are so high, it's like they're trying to make a fortune off of us! Ever since the Gilmer's sold the place, everything's been going downhill. The employees look so grumpy, and it seems like the owner doesn't even care about the store anymore. I'm done with Port Hope Home Hardware - I'll go to Home Depot in Cobourg instead!

Pump purchase

Service

I just picked up a big pump from a home hardware store, but my nearest one didn't have it, so I had to go to another town to get it. It was kind of a pain, but the service I got was amazing. Shannon, who works at the store, really went out of her way to help me out. She made sure the pump got shipped to me and even called to check if it arrived okay. Her commitment to making customers happy really blew me away. I appreciate all she did to make sure everything went smoothly with my purchase.

Kitchen cabinet knobs

Service

I just bought some kitchen cabinet knobs from this store. They didn't have the exact style I wanted in stock, but the staff was super helpful and said they could order them for me. The customer service was awesome, and they kept me in the loop about my order. I ended up getting exactly what I needed pretty quickly.

Plumbing fixtures purchase

Service

The folks at this hardware store really impressed me, especially Todd over in the plumbing fixtures section. As someone who's been around the block, I thought I knew a thing or two about plumbing, but Todd's expertise really wowed me. He was super helpful and knew exactly what I needed for my project. The whole team at this store has always been nice and ready to help with any questions I have. I like coming here more than those huge stores because I can find what I need without trekking all over the place. I definitely suggest giving this store a visit for all your hardware needs.
