Decent optics, clumsy support

for casual use it’s solid and easy to enjoy, and that kept me from going full refund rage. I didn’t bother with a return because the whole process seemed like more stress than it was worth. Bottom line: great optics, awkward aftercare. If they tightened up support, I’d be back without hesitation.

Late delivery, decent scope

Ordered the scope on Dec 22 and paid extra for FedEx Priority Overnight — about $40.53. Next day I got a notice saying it wouldn’t arrive until the Tuesday after Christmas, and it actually showed up on Wednesday. FedEx shrugged and told me to take it up with the seller, so I rang AmScope for a refund on the shipping. They refused because the person said their store/warehouse is closed on weekends. That part’s annoying and felt like a dodge — they should be clearer that orders are shipped from a store and not a 24/7 fulfilment centre. Website could use a check too, so you don’t pay for impossible weekend shipping. Customer rep was flat, a bit sarcastic, not helpful. So yeah, service let the transaction down. The scope itself, once it arrived, was fine. First clear night after the holidays I put it together in the driveway — assembly was straightforward, instructions plain and not fussy. Optics are decent at low to medium power, crisp enough for the moon and bright planets; at higher magnification it gets a bit soft and the tripod has a little wobble if you poke it. Feels mostly sturdy though, a fair mix of metal and plastic. Not perfect, but works for casual use and for learning. I’d buy similar gear again but probably not from the same place unless service improves.

Got the microscope when expected but had some problems with moving the stage and focusing. I reached out to customer service and they said they'd send a replacement, but haven't heard back since.

$400 microscope order missing item

I had the worst experience with customer service. I tried calling and emailing many times about a missing item in my $400 microscope order, but no one got back to me. It was really frustrating and disappointing that they didn't communicate or follow up.

Microscope purchase for electronics lab

I gotta say, I was super impressed by the amazing service and communication I got from the team. Even though they couldn't ship to Switzerland, they really went above and beyond to help me out by sending my order to a UPS Access Point in France. And let me tell you, getting free shipping for such a heavy item within Europe saved me a ton of money compared to ordering from the US or China. The 3.5X-90X Simul-Focal Stereo Microscope (SM-4NTPZ-3PL) I got is just what I needed for my electronics lab – I can solder and inspect stuff at the same time thanks to the stereo eyepieces and camera. But, I do kinda wish they could figure out a way to offer VAT free shipping to Switzerland 'cause I ended up paying unnecessary VAT. Oh well, despite that hiccup, the product still gives you great bang for your buck.

I got a damaged item and I've been trying to contact them several times by phone and email. I even sent pictures of the damage. But I haven't heard back from customer service at all. It's really frustrating and disappointing not to get any response about how they're going to fix this. I'm really hoping for a good solution, but I won't be buying from them again.

Stereo microscope purchase

I recently bought a stereo microscope from this company and let me tell you, the customer service has been really disappointing. It's like the staff there don't know what they're doing and aren't able to help with any problems or concerns customers might have. They keep asking for the same info I've already given them, and then make me jump through hoops that feel like a waste of time. And in the end, they just ask for the same info all over again. It's frustrating and takes up so much time.

I just bought a microscope from this company and let me tell you, the customer service was top notch! There was a bit of a mix-up with the return because of the shipping company, but Maria, the customer service rep, really came through. She sorted everything out quickly and made sure I got my refund without any hassle. I can't say enough good things about this company - their customer service is really something special. Highly recommend!
