Shaw Academy is a scam. They will tell you it's a free course but once you sign-up, they will call you and offer 1 year subscription for they say is a discounted price. Then after a year, when you thought your subscription is over, they will bill you automatically for another 1 year subscription, and even if you ask them to cancel and refund the amount, they will tell you that they don't do refunds because your subscription has already been renewed. They are the only company that doesn't have the authority to cancel their clients' subscription, wow, one-of-a-kind! They say they are not able to do refunds because they are not able to do it in their own computer system! Or is it because they just simply don't want to do it? Their courses are recorded very badly and boring that no one would be interested in attending. BIG SCAMMER!
There is no selection for 0 star so checked on 1 for everything but they still got 2? And I checked on "NO" if i would buy again, but it showed Yes in the review, SO ODD!
It was supposed to be free
Received multiple emails to try free of charge and receive one diploma free. Signed up for it they immediately took 130 bucks, so far my bank is returned my money twice but they keep on getting it back. Do not trust them

Shaw academy is definitely a scam, they talk about free course but then debit your account without disclosing it
I listened to the first class or two and decided to cancel immediately, it was not a good fit. I canceled several times online but it wouldn't process the cancellation fully until I called. I tried calling five different times and each time it said they were closed even though it was during the middle of the day. Finally, I discovered that they were on UK time, which it doesn't say in the voicemail. All my other calls were still placed between 9 to 5 but I finally got through by calling at 8 in the morning. A human didn't even answer, it was an automated voicemail! And the voicemail said you have now canceled your membership. I don't understand why on earth they couldn't just send me to the cancellation voicemail all the other times I tried calling but they didn't.
The worst part was that once I finally was able to cancel it, they still charged me two days later.
When I tried to contact them about it, they don't even have an online helpdesk.
This was a horrible experience. It feels like a scam. Shaw manipulated me and made it almost impossible to cancel. Then they charged me anyway.Im worrying be ause I just joined a free course 9 hours ago, but I immediately cancelled 3 hours ago. They already deducted 5 dollars in my account without my permission. Hopefully they won't deduct more or else I need to call my bank immediately.
In August 2020, I was looking for an Interior design course and I came across Shaw Academy. Their offer was 1 Month of free access to the content, and I've decided to try it and see if the content matches my needs. The moment I registered, I was charged 50 euro!!! I contacted them immediately, but the response was that they CANNOT return my money, and instead they were giving me 6 months of access to the course. In addition, every module has separate materials which you have to pay extra. The 6-month period is finished, but I did not see all the videos since they have not been all uploaded.
Now, a little note on the actual content of the course. I did not want to waste more money on this platform so I did not buy any course materials. The videos are giving general information. They made 4 videos on basic drawing with Autocad and Sketchup, which has nothing to do with an Interior Design Course.Trial Course and Bank issues (OTP) hELP
HELP!!!!
I was registering my account for their "FREE TRIAL", I entered my account details and it redirected me to a tab where I should put my OTP sent to my phone number, but I didn't enter the OTP and leave the page because I was scared for moment.
.
Question is: Will they still deduct fees even I didn't get to enter my otp upon registering? Does it still count? Or is my registration confirmed? I'm scared that they might still deduct fees.
.
Hoping for a help and response. Big thanks!Advertised Free Online Class
The information provided by this service was all legible and easy to understand and at first I had a lovely experience with it, but when I tried to quit due to time constraints I ran into a couple issues. I was told that it would be a completely free service and I wouldn't be charged, then I recieved a certification charge for $279, and when I confronted customer service about it they claimed that I consented to this charge, which I didn't. Their advertisement claiming that the service was free was false, and they did agree to delete my personal information, but even as I said that I didn't want to use the platform anymore they refused to listen and insisted that I continue to recieve free services for the next five years, which I didn't want. It's a scam. Don't waste your money
This is a scam. They let you pay after you cancel the trial.
Membership
Don’t ever give your credit card to this scam company, it wasted so much of my time just to deal with it. They kept withdrawing money from your credit time to time, I had ready made 2 phone calls to cancel (the only way you could cancel the membership was to call them) but after a few months, you would see your money got stolen again from this company, I even wrote email to request for a refund but they will never do.
$220 package (not buy)
It is a scram. It stole me $220. I did not even know my subscription. Please dont sign up
Marketing
Negative There have got a lot of hidden charges and obviously scammers please don’t trust them
I have sent so many emails asking cancle and refund,
as soon as I realized they charged me, but Shaw Academy has not answered yet. Shaw Academy is just waiting for victims to give up. I found regulations all customers have 14 days to ask cancel and refund of digital service. Although I have a right, it doesn't matter for them. They are just ignoring and giving no answer.Shaw academy
MUST READ!!!
DON NOT USE!!!!
THEY CANT NOT BE TRUSTED!!!!
DON’T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE!!!
HERES WHY:
So I had my membership extended till the 18th Oct and afterwards it would then get cancelled and by that point I had finished all of the lessons as well as complete all of the exams and when I questioned where was my hard copy I was told I didn’t finished the course and therefore would not get a hard copy of the diploma unless I paid more money!!!! (Money grabbers) ???? By this point I have had another £100 taken out of my bank account even though I was previously been told by a member of their colleagues that it would get cancelled. I had put in so much of my time and effort into this course only to find out that I won’t receive my hard copy of the diploma which is rightfully mine due to some FAULT IN THE STYTEM!!! And not only did they rob money off a young 19 year old girl (£300+) they robbed her from her dreams and future and for that they should feel ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES!!!! So what I suggest to them was I either get sent my hard copy of my diploma immediately (which is rightfully mine) or they return my full amount of money they robbed from me!!! However, their customer advice team have been completely useless toward the situation when all I want is for the issue to be solved ASAP as you can imagine I am very unhappy ????all I would like this mess to be sorted. And as I have made them aware I will take this issue even further if I have too!!!50£
They say everything its for free after a month they take away from your account 50 £ without letting you know
Online art course
This is a scam. I signed up to this and stupidly gave my PayPal details. I then immediately cancelled as upon further research the company didn’t look right. I was then charged for course materials which I didn’t purchase and when I complained they said I had been taken through a two step verification which is a lie. This is a complete scam and I want a refund. I want to give zero stars for this review but the site won’t allow me to
Zero star. 4 week free trial
Unfortunately with their aggressive marketing strategy they lure many students to take their 4 week free trial.
During the free trial they use many sly ways to get money off vulnerable students and use all sort of legalities of why they cannot refund the money.
Because advert sound legit and it seems straightforward to cancel before 4 weeks, many students enroll without reading reviews. But during the 4 weeks they are conned enough via various strategies so they end up paying unwillingly for 1 thing or another.
I was getting calls at least3 x a day everyday from them. Each time you turn a page on their website while logged in, a big pop up of selling products come up with a small almost invisible button.
I spoken to one as she said she was calling to see how I am getting on with my studies. The accent was difficult to understand and amidst that she was slyly selling products. Like’ let’s upgrade your package and you will benefit etc... No wonder many non native English speakers fall for this as they may not understand and shockingly find unexpected monies taken out of their account.
In the Uk we have regulated bodies so I hope something can be done. Unfortunately, this is not the case in other countries where people are more vulnerable. I hope this company shuts down soon.Course Tool kit (unwanted purchase)
Hi set up a 4 week free online course, from a link sent from a friend. You had to put your PayPal details in and I clicked on an instant purchase internet tool kit that helps with the course, but I didn’t want it anyway as I decided that I had most of the qualifications the course offered. I sent an email ASAP asking for a refund as I purchased in error anyway. They said no. I sent another email they said no even though id cancelled my subscription. I had to open a dispute with PayPal to make sure it wasn’t taken out of my account. 0 stars
Nothing free about free 30 trial period
This is a fraud. I signed up for a 30 day free trial on Jun 13. I had until 2nd week of July to cancel at no cost. What do you know?? I cancel on Jun 25 but had already been billed on Jun 23. I have asked for a refund multiple times. 1st I was offer 6 month access free worth $399, I declined so they offer it again, I declined and now they are offering 12 month access worth $699 + a toolkit worth $199 again i decline and now they are ignoring my emails as there is no tel number to call re: refunds. They are willing to offer $800+ worth of access but refuse to refund $79.99

Keep well away from these scammers. Easy to sign up, near impossible to cancel. Took £50 for nothing from me should have been a free trail.
Do waste your life at shawacademy. There are some decent alternative online schools.Search Results

DO NOT PURCHASE FROM SHAWACADEMY! It's a scam and your money is better spent elsewhere. They lure you with free trials, then they do not cancel your subsription and they start to issue baseless payments on your card. AVOID and REPORT them and if you have had a negative experience with them, WRITE IT ON ALL PLATFORMS!!Free Trial
This Academy is nothing but a scam. I signed up for a free trial and rang days later to cancel it prior to being liable for any payments and yet I was wrongfully charged £49.99 last week and it’s been impossible to contact them. (I would give 0 stars if I could).
4 week Free Trial
This is a scam. I signed up for the 4 week free trial I cancelled the subscription prior to the cancellation date and I was still charged. When I called to cancel the rep offered me 6 months free worth of courses to which I declined. She also mentioned that I had been billed 2 days earlier and I would be refunded. They came back now twice saying they cannot refund. Not sure what they call FREE TRIAL
Scam!!!
Any positive reviews you are seeing are fake! The learning material is pretty limited and here’s the best part - to sign up for the free trial they take your card details. They then charge you £49.99 after the four week trial period with no prior warning advising that free trial is running out. I have been trying to get a refund from them for best part of a week with back and forth communication on the basis that I haven’t used the site after the first week and they don’t pre warn of charging like most reputable companies would - they are refusing. Absolutely disgusting company who bank on people forgetting to cancel their subscription and take your money without your consent. Shameful at a time when many are struggling to feed themselves. Please do yourself a favour and don’t sign up to these scam artists. I will be reporting them
If you are in the UK phone your bank and ask for a chargeback. You will get the cash back. Tell them about these reviews and the bad reviews on trustpilot. I just did it and the money is back in my account now.
Excel
Boring, not good content. Inferior teaching. But worst of all they continue to take money from my account and don't respond to my request to cancel. I'm going around in circles while they pay themselves directly from my account.
Monthly subscription
My first advice to ANYONE signing up is cancel any authorised payment immediately after you access. Their website is like a mine field of “we will take all your money”!! If I could give 0 stars I would.
These reviews are fake by the way they won’t let me review below 2 stars
My daughter clicked on buy a certificate for a class I hadn’t even attended and they took almost £40 from my paypal like that no verification no second confirm button bam, my whole weeks grocery money gone before I could blink.
When I contacted them to explain what happened they gave some lame excuse that since I had access to it they couldn’t refund it. Now I can’t access the certificate till I finish all modules and I haven’t even taken one yet so total bs! Then they just stopped replying me. I escalated it with PayPal I think they should loose access to PayPal as they are abusing their one click payment system there are probably £3-400 worth of one click buttons on their website.
Total garbage. Save your money and your sanity I’m now having to decide what groceries I will buy and won’t buy since I’m a single mum without income. Thanks a lot you scumbags. If it makes you feel any better the same thing happened to me Victoria. I lost 99GBP. Making education a scam business is one of the most horrible things anyone can do. They know exactly what they're doing.
