Language learning software review
1 reviews
I've tried out a bunch of different language learning apps before, but nothing beats the way this language learning software works. It's so efficient and effective. Teaching vocabulary and grammar through pictures and sound really speeds up the process of learning a new language. Plus, the app is super easy to use and the macOS software is top-notch. I'm happy with my lifetime subscription and can't wait to tackle more languages down the road.

Language learning program

The language learning program is pretty good overall, eh? The lessons are clear and there are interactive activities to help me improve my understanding. But, here's the thing - I've run into a bit of a frustrating problem with the voice recognition. My microphone works fine for everything else, but with this program, the voice recognition is hit and miss. It keeps saying it's working fine when it's not! This means I end up spending more time trying to figure out what's wrong and dealing with tech issues than actually learning the language, eh? It's frustrating, eh?

Language Learning Program

This language learning program is well-structured and perfect for those truly dedicated to mastering a new language. However, there are a couple of things that could make it even better. It would be really helpful to have all translations for pictures, to avoid any confusion when learning new concepts or idioms. Also, giving a bit more space between characters in the beginning lessons could make it easier to recognize patterns and reduce any feelings of overwhelm. Overall, the program is great for serious learners, but might be a bit overwhelming for casual tourists just looking to grasp the basics of a language.

App, not as good for practicing as I thought
1 reviews
I just started using this app, and it's alright, I suppose. I was kind of hoping I could use it while I'm driving like some of those other apps, but that's a no-go. And sometimes it doesn't even pick up my voice, even when I'm right by the mic!

Online language learning program

Improving in this language learning program would be a lot easier if we had more choices when it comes to picking exercises and levels. I mean, repetition is great for learning, but always being stuck doing the same basic exercises can get pretty annoying, eh? It would be awesome to have more say in what exercises we do based on how hard they are or what type they are. That way, we could tailor our learning experience to suit our own needs and make progress more efficiently, you know?

Lifetime Spanish

Please take heed! Do not spend any money with Rosetta Stone!
If it was possible to give negative stars, I would!
They are quick to take your money, but if you have any problems, they will just fob you off!
They bought a company named Livemocha, and now refuse to honor their commitments. Livemocha's product activation webpage now points to Rosetta Stone. I bought a Livemocha lifetime Spanish course. When I go to activate my course, it points to the Rosetta Stone website. There is no way to activate the course I have paid for. When I contacted their support department, I was told by Sarah that they no longer support this product and I needed to purchase a new one from Rosetta Stone.
I explained that I had already paid for this lifetime product and should not have to pay again. I was told the same thing, they do not support it. I was told I could have a 3 month free trial which is available to anyone.
I explained I was not happy with this response, and wished to log an official complaint. I was told I would have to write a letter to their legal department! I wrote back asking for their email address, and got sent the same email again from Sarah as if I was some uneducated fool, saying I had to write a letter and send it via post to:
Rosetta Stone
Attn: Customer Complaints
Case Number: 08497339

I explained that they must be on email, otherwise how else do they communicate with the rest of the company. Below is the response:
Dear Learner,
Thank you for contacting Rosetta Stone. We do not have an email for Formal Complaints. Yes, they are just contacted via letters. This is the only channel to communicate them
Thanks
Sarah
Rosetta Stone are very happy to take your money online, boast they are an online language site, yet when you have a problem, all of a sudden they live in the dark ages and need to be written to via a letter because they do not have email.
These people are nothing but charlatans with no ethics or morality. They will happily take your money online within seconds, then leave you high and dry if you have a problem.
There are plenty of other more ethical language learning sites to choose from. Do yourselves a favor, and steer clear of these thieves.

About Rosetta Stone
Rosetta Stone Inc. is an education technology company based in the United States that specializes in language learning software and services. Founded in 1992 by Allen Stoltzfus and named after the ancient artifact that had unlocked the secrets of Egyptian hieroglyphics for linguists, the company has aimed to harness technology to facilitate language learning. Rosetta Stone's proprietary software uses interactive exercises and immersion techniques to help users learn new languages without translations or memorization of vocabulary lists. Over the years, it has expanded its offerings to include programs for 30 languages and serves individuals, educational institutions, and corporations worldwide. The company's approach is based on simulating a natural language-learning experience, much like how a child learns to speak, through recognizing patterns and intuitive associations between images and meanings.
