Italian language course
The Italian language course I bought was kind of a letdown. The conversations were fast and not clear enough, which made it hard to catch what was being said. Plus, the audio quality wasn't great, making it even more frustrating to keep up with the lessons. I think having transcripts available could have made things better, but they don't offer that. It's too bad because the course could be really good if they fixed these things.
Language learning software
Even though the product wasn't as good as I had hoped in terms of quality, the customer service and the whole ordering and delivery process were actually pretty good. I felt like the website and customer service didn't really match the product quality - it just didn't work for me after the free trial. The customer service folks were nice, but it felt like they didn't really know what they were doing. It ended up taking me three whole days just to set up my account and figure out how to use the product.
Language course purchase
Hey everyone, I just wanted to chat about this language course I grabbed online. Don't pay attention to those bad reviews, this course is legit. It's been out there for a while and has a solid reputation. There's another site trying to copy it, so make sure you're on the right one. Dr. Pimsleur is the brains behind this course and it's awesome for learning through speaking. So don't be fooled, stick with the real deal!
Language learning program
The language learning program works really well for improving speaking skills, but sometimes the lessons are way too long and get pretty boring. I think if they updated the program with a more modern approach, it would be a lot more effective and engaging. Right now, it seems kind of outdated and could really use a big update to stay current with what's happening in language education.
Level 1 Finnish course
I just bought the Level 1 Finnish course when it was on sale, eh. But, unfortunately, I'm having a big problem because I still haven't gotten access to the course. I've sent a bunch of emails asking about what's going on, but I haven't heard anything back. It looks like I might have just wasted my money because I can only call them in the US, and I can't make an international call without it costing me a ton. It's so annoying that they can sell stuff that we can't even use, eh.
Just signed up for language lessons
The website is not working for me. I signed up but I'm unable to access the lessons. They just keep telling me to subscribe again instead of letting me in. It's unprofessional and the chat function is not working either.
Language learning program purchase
I'm really disappointed with the language learning program I bought. I spent a lot of money on it, but I've had a ton of problems trying to use it. The customer service has been pretty bad, too. It's been hard to talk to anyone and it feels like they're trying to make it difficult for customers to get help.
Castilian Spanish course purchase
The sound quality is really bad, making it hard to understand and not very clear. The guy speaking speaks too fast and mumbles words together, and the lady sometimes says phrases too quickly. Lots of words and phrases are wrong, and sometimes they're pronounced in Latin American Spanish instead of Castilian Spanish. They don't give you a booklet with translations, so it's tough to figure out the poorly pronounced words. The fact that customer service hasn't responded after I told them about these problems says a lot about the company. The way the course is set up is good, but I had to spend hours fixing the audio files to make it sound better and correct the glitches.
Language learning program
I recently bought a language learning program from this company and it was a really bad experience. I got in touch with their customer service to double-check the price before I bought it, and they said it was one price. But then when I looked at my credit card bill, I saw they had charged me over $100 more than what we agreed on. I've tried getting a hold of them a bunch of times since then, but only got two replies from different people. After that, they stopped replying at all. They won't give me my money back and they're not being clear or helpful in fixing the problem. I really recommend staying away from this company and not believing what's on their website.
Language learning course
This course was kinda disappointing, eh. It did an okay job of teaching me the basics of the language, but it didn't really help much with having real conversations or getting my pronunciation down. Plus, there was no search feature so I couldn't go back to review stuff easily, which was super annoying. The booklet didn't line up with the lessons and the material was confusing at times. Overall, the lack of grammar explanations was a big downside, eh. I ended up switching to a different language learning platform and it's been way better, eh.
Recent Hungarian Program Purchase
I just got back from a trip to Budapest and I was so impressed by how well I could talk to people after only 13 lessons with the Hungarian program. I could say hello, order food and drinks, ask for directions, shop, and even have some casual chats. My Hungarian pals even complimented my accent, which really boosted my confidence. I've used Pimsleur for languages like Italian, Irish Gaelic, Cantonese, Icelandic, and Dutch when I travel, and I love how they focus on real-life conversations and pronunciation rather than just grammar and vocabulary words. Give it a shot and see how it can make your travel adventures even better!
Language learning tool
I've been using this language learning tool for years, started with CDs and now with their streaming service. The ability to access lessons on all my devices has been a game-changer for me. I really enjoy the daily exercises and games that help me stay engaged and focused. The idiomatic expressions can be tough, but I like being able to improve my language skills beyond just vocab and grammar. Overall, Pimsleur has been a big help in my language learning journey and in diving into a new culture.
French 3 course
The French 3 course costs an arm and a leg, and then they go and cut me off for no reason. It's a pain in the butt trying to reach them to gripe about it, and even when I do, their advice is useless. On top of that, they went and enrolled me in a free trial course for Albanian, which is the last thing on earth I want to learn.
Language learning program
I got this language learning app because I wanted to be like a language pro. At first, it was awesome and I felt super smart picking up all these new words. But then, it started getting kind of dull and I stopped feeling like I was actually learning much. The beginner levels were fine, but then I was just like, "What's even the point?" I've completed loads of levels in different languages, but still can't hold a proper conversation. It would be great if they could give more explanations, you know?
Audiobook purchase
I really like being able to practice speaking out loud and go back over lessons when I need to. At first, I tried the monthly subscription, but I had a hard time because the lessons were only available at regular speed. I'm over 50, so I need more time to understand information. That's why I ended up buying the audiobook lessons instead. The audiobook lets me slow down the audio to 75%, and that has made a big difference in how I learn. The monthly subscription is expensive, and I think the company should think about adding a feature for longer pauses on the app. But since I got the lessons, I've found that I can go at a pace that works better for me, and I'm really liking the program.
Book order
I ordered this book online thinking it would make learning French a piece of cake, eh? But to be honest, it was just so dull and not useful at all. I tried returning it because it felt like a waste of money, but they refused to give me a refund, eh? Those guys are nothing but a bunch of lying, cheating crooks, no doubt about it!
Confidence-building language app
I just wanted to share my experience using this language app. It actually helped boost my confidence in speaking, which was great. I started with a seven-day trial, then they offered me a 28-day trial, so I took it. But when I tried to cancel before the trial was up, they still charged me for a whole month without asking me first. I tried to show them the offer I had agreed to, but they wouldn't give me a refund. I had to get PayPal involved to finally get my money back. Definitely steer clear of this app, it's not worth the hassle!
Free Ukrainian course review
I just checked out the free Ukrainian course from this company and I gotta say, it was pretty helpful. The audio recordings were really clear and the speakers talked at a good speed - easy to keep up with. But I had a tough time with some sounds that aren't in my usual languages. It would've been nice to have a section to help with that for people in the same boat as me. Even with that hiccup, I still think the course was great for practicing my Ukrainian speaking and listening skills.
Beginner language learning program
As a newbie trying to pick up a new language, I gotta say, the way this program teaches seems kind of old-fashioned and basic compared to other options out there. They don't really dive deep into different topics or offer much variety, which can be a bit of a bummer for someone starting from zero.
