ServiceI was scrolling my account over my morning coffee and that’s when I actually felt okay about this place. Support can be a mess — long waits, answers that dodge your question and the feedback email felt pointless — I get why people complain. But the morning my 4% cash-back posted after a couple of trades, and a rep finally walked me through a weird transfer hold, I sighed with relief. I use it for RRSP top-ups and checking my little side portfolio on the bus, so reliability matters. It’s not flawless — app hiccups and slow replies — but day-to-day it does the job, surprisingly.
Finally sorted, but what a slog

Transfersthey did pay out, but in four separate chunks spread over three weeks in August, which is annoying. So, not impressed with speed or coordination, but I'll admit I'm glad it's done.

ServiceI was making lunch when I opened my account page and felt that little pit in the stomach — the status was still “Pending Review.” I had uploaded a change form for my RIF payments and a scanned void cheque weeks earlier (Jan 21), so seeing that felt like someone had hit pause on purpose. It’s a small thing, a status line on a screen, but it tells you everything about how the company treats the little tasks that should be simple. You upload the paper, you expect the outcome; instead you get a hamster wheel of waiting and canned messages.

ServiceI was actually on my ninth mile when the whole thing finally moved — and that says a lot. I hesitated before signing up because of the reviews, thought maybe they were dramatic, but my doubts were pretty much spot on. Placed a couple of setup calls that were supposed to be short; instead I hung up at 90 and 96 minutes twice. The chat said 1 hour 15 and then after an hour said the office was closed. Odd. They did set a follow-up call which, to my surprise, did arrive at the arranged time. The rep was polite — really tried — but couldn’t fix the issue and told me to call back on a weekday. Asked for a supervisor, got put on hold twice and after another long wait was told no one was available. As someone who values action over promises (and who’s not exactly spring chicken), that felt disrespectful. I’ve had better-organized promos from smaller outfits, honestly. The one nice surprise was the follow-up showing up on time and the agent’s patience — that kept me from cancelling outright. Still, the staffing and communication need serious work before I’d recommend them.

Serviceopen a ticket, get a canned answer, wait, repeat. Months crept by. I poked forums, called, thought about lawyers (expensive), even considered panicking. Eventually I heard about a recovery outfit called VeriTrailIntel through the same online groups. I was skeptical, but what surprised me was how they didn’t sugarcoat anything — they gave realistic timelines and kept me updated (not perfect, but consistent), which actually calmed me down more than I expected. The process took longer than I wanted, and there were bumps, yet I did get my funds back in the end. Lesson here: no matter how legit something looks, access can vanish when you least expect it. I’m not praising or shaming—just sharing what happened. Keep receipts, screenshots, be wary of glowing reviews, and if you’re stuck, ask around (but don’t rush into costly fixes).
