Then, they purchase the best available artwork based on the research. After the artwork is purchased, the company files an offering circular with the securities and exchange commission allowing anyone to invest.

You sign in to the platform and buy shares in artworks that interest you, then you will have to wait for 3-10 years until a good offer comes to Masterworks, and they sell it, and the profits are distributed according to the shares. If you don’t want to wait for 10 years until the company sells the artwork, you can sell your share in the secondary market to another investor on the platform.

Masterworks Fees
Masterworks will charge you 1.5% as a management fee, in other words, the company takes that money in return for the effort and experience the put in choosing the artwork, storing it, and paying for the insurance, etc. In addition, it will charge you 20% of the profits as a performance fee. Those are the two main revenue sources for the company.
