Art investment for Boomers
My grandparents, who are 77 and 80 years old, were a bit hesitant about getting into art since they're getting up there in age. But they've been collecting art for a while now and wanted to start investing in some really cool pieces. The young folks at the company were so nice and helpful, especially Phil, the guy who knows all about the tech stuff and got them all set up with their account and banking info. They decided to start with $10,000 and ended up buying two awesome pieces of art. Now they can keep adding more money whenever they want to buy new paintings. It was super easy, the only tough part is waiting for the art to sell!

Investment Experience with Masterworks
My experience with Masterworks was really disappointing. At first, they were super helpful in helping me figure out how to invest my money in fine art. But as soon as I wanted to sell my shares, everything went downhill. They sent me an email saying my trading wallet was inactive, so I couldn't sell my shares. I tried many times to fix it, but it took a frustrating 8 months to solve the problem. During that time, I only got generic emails that didn't really help, which made me wonder if they were legit. It felt shady and made me think about filing a formal complaint. After a lot of effort, I finally sold my shares, but the whole experience was far from satisfying and left a bad taste in my mouth. I would tell anyone thinking about investing with Masterworks to think twice and be careful.

As someone who loves art, I was really excited to buy art through this platform. But to be honest, I've been pretty disappointed so far. I paid more for the paintings than they're worth now, which is a real bummer because I was hoping to make some money back. Plus, the fees are way too high, and it feels like the company doesn't care about selling the paintings because they're still making money off my shares. I tried reaching out to Paul Colnaghi about this, and to get them to stop sending me so many marketing emails, but no luck.

I haven't seen any returns on my investments yet, and all the pressure to buy more paintings just makes me even more disappointed. Matt answered all my questions about my investment and made sure I was good with everything before moving forward. He didn't push me to invest more than I wanted to, which I really appreciated. She even showed me how to use my account and suggested I download the Masterworks app for easier access.

Everyone I chatted with was super knowledgeable about investing and they took the time to go through all my options based on what I needed. Schedulin' and attendin' the onboarding interview was a bit tough at first 'cause of some calendar conflicts, but once we got that sorted out, everything went real smooth. My advisor was really on the ball and made sure to check in often to answer any questions or worries I had. Buyin' shares of art through the app was easy peasy, and the advisor and tech support team were real helpful in walkin' me through my first purchase.

I invested around 20k in art and now it's only worth like 20% less, not cool bro. It's hard to sell it quickly because the market is slow. I have to rely on Masterworks to not screw things up, and they still make money even if I don't, not fair. Maybe I'll just stick with boring old ETFs next time.

I gotta tell you, investing with that company was a total disaster. I couldn't get my money back when I needed it because of their lack of liquidity. The fees were way too high and just made things worse. And don't even get me started on all the lies they told me about their services. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of that place.
