Right after he adjusted my pack my sore back finally eased, I relaxed.

Started the tour that morning; first minutes cheerful, organized — halfway I knew it worked, not perfect though.

I almost didn't book—kinda skeptical—but Hugo's tour fixed that. Now I brag about it at work and rewatch photos, worth it.

Mid-walk vibe

Halfway through the walk Hugo kept things clear and relaxed, lots of energy, chatted easily—felt like a friendly local guide, better than past tours.
Left waiting at Versailles

Not reliable — wouldn’t count on the pickup. We stood in the cold outside Versailles, the bus never arrived, no replacement or notice, staff unhelpful; bring a backup plan.

Spotted it on a friend's feed — my sister tipped me. Tickets showed up quick, customer service was helpful, and Nina, our guide, kept us laughing, warm.

Booked through their site for a business trip. App felt clunky and the refund took ages, but after a push they sorted it. Now it works okay and I use it for quick bookings. Glad it finally came together.
Unexpectedly helpful, but I hesitated

I was wary at first — had a bad guide before and didn't want to waste time. Adrien calmed that down. Clear info, patient, practical tips. Not flashy, but honestly made the day easier, thanks.
Worth the day - with a hiccup
Worth the day - with a hiccup
In short, I'd go again; the gardens were gorgeous and the guide had good stories, even if there was a weird moment at the end about the bus not coming for just the two of us. Staff sorted it out eventually, so don't stress, and the pace was relaxed and easy.
Late-night lights, mixed bag

the performance was engaging and the bubbly was unexpectedly tasty, which cheered me up more than I thought it would. That was the nice surprise of the night — I hadn’t expected the champagne to be that good, so credit where it’s due, the show and the drink hit the mark.
But let me be blunt: the bus/return part of the package was a real disappointment and that’s the bit I want to focus on. I booked the tour specifically because it said return transport included and dropped off close to my Montparnasse hotel — that made it an easy sell for a solo lady out late. On the night, though, plans were different. The rep explained the bus had to take a detour because of event prep, which I get, things happen. What I didn’t get was that the alternative drop-off was about a 15-minute walk from my hotel and in an area the rep himself admitted wasn’t great at 2 or 3 a.m. He even pointed it out on the map. So I was left choosing between a sketchy walk, a Metro route I’d read horror stories about later, or getting myself home another way.
There was also a lot of confusion on the bus — people arguing with the rep, loud back-and-forths about changed plans. That made the whole ride stressful rather than relaxing or informative; it felt messy, unprofessional, and crowded with complaints, which is exactly what you don’t want when you’re trying to unwind. I spent most of the show worrying about this, which is annoying because it soured the evening.
In the end I got an Uber to be safe, which cost me £12.73 — I kept the receipt. I also did the math afterwards and worked out that what I paid for the full package didn’t match the value of the show and champagne alone, so I’m asking for the difference. I realize the company might not have been able to control every road closure, and the rep did try to help by showing me options, but that doesn’t change the fact that the advertised “return near Montparnasse” didn’t happen and it made me feel unsafe. I delayed writing because I was in hospital for a bit — that’s why this is coming late — but I still wanted to give the company a chance to sort it.
So yeah: big thumbs up for the show and the unexpectedly good champagne, and a clear thumbs down for the chaotic bus experience and the misleading transport promise. I’d use this company again for an event if I knew the logistics were solid, but after this night I’d be checking details a hundred times and probably budgeting for an Uber just in case.

not at the booking or the brochure, but right there on that platform when I finally realised we were probably going to miss the bus. I booked this full-day Giverny & Versailles trip through GetYourGuide a few weeks earlier — it sounded perfect, the kind of thing you save up for and actually look forward to. First impression of the operator? Their listing looked thorough, itinerary clear, price hefty but reasonable for a nine‑hour day that supposedly included lunch and guided stops. So yeah, expectations were up.

cramped seats and an awkward setup — felt like I’d be bored fast. I started the audio on my phone and at first it was disjointed and too short. Then, about halfway through, the driver pointed out a view and the audio actually matched the stop. That’s the moment I relaxed and thought, okay, this works. It’s not perfect: seats are firm, battery worries if you don’t bring a charger, and some stops have tiny snippets only. Still, I learned a few neat things and would consider it again, with a backup battery.
