Almost dodged that $349 surprise

Complaints

I’m really glad I caught this early. A friend tipped me off about a course on Domestika and I signed up for a single class in December 2025. It looked useful, so I went ahead. Then, out of nowhere, my bank flagged a $349 charge on January 4, 2026. I questioned it right away and my bank cancelled the card and blocked the payment. That felt like a win, honestly. But then things got weird. Domestika apparently pushed the same fee through a different linked account. I only learned that after checking both accounts. I reached out for a refund and got an automated answer saying the charge was final because I hadn’t cancelled a trial — which I never knowingly started. So yeah, annoying and confusing. Still, I’m thankful the bank acted fast and that I noticed it. Lesson learned: double-check payment methods, watch your statements, and ask friends how these sites handle trials. I’ll probably still try a course again someday, but I’ll be way more careful next time.

Surprise subscription ran the show

Complaints

it felt sneaky and then impossible to undo. I tried to get a refund (and yes, I read the terms afterward) but it turned into a runaround. The courses themselves are a mixed bag — a few are actually okay, practical tips you can use right away — but a lot feel slapdash, like someone recorded a lecture on a phone and called it a day. The credit system is annoying too: you think Plus will give you access, but no, you still need credits for permanent access to many things. So you end up nudged to spend more. Overall I’m glad I found a couple useful lessons, and I might go back for a specific course if the price made sense, but I wouldn’t trust the billing or expect consistently solid production quality.

Great course deal — just watch the billing

Complaints

the billing part was messy. I first saw the promo on REMOVED on Nov 30, 2025 — a friend had actually sent me the link. It said one or three courses for about $3.12 USD, so I clicked and paid with my usual card through the REMOVED payment page. The short version: the courses themselves were fine and I enjoyed them, nice lessons, good value for that price. The problem is that the checkout didn’t make it clear I’d also get signed up for an annual Plus plan. A month later I noticed a $105.74 USD charge on Dec 31, 2025, for that subscription. That wasn’t something I agreed to in any obvious way. I reached out via the Domestika refund form on Jan 6, 2026 and again on Jan 13, 2026. Both replies were basically automated and only pointed to their return policy, no real fix. I also reported the charge to the card issuer (RappiCard) and they’re looking into it. So yeah, course content = good, price for the promo = excellent. Customer service and billing transparency = not great. It’s usable and I’m happy with the learning, but this subscription surprise soured the experience. If you try the offer, double-check the small print and your account settings, and keep an eye on your statement.
