    International Flight Tickets for 5

    We booked an international flight for our family of 5 through eDreams the evening of January 5, 2024. The confirmation email showed the correct birthdates for all passengers.

    However, when clicking on "Manage" on eDreams website the next morning, we found out their computer had shifted all of the birthdates by -1, e.g., 12 became 11, 9 became 8, etc. Even worse, we contacted the airline and discovered eDreams had reported their altered and now incorrect birthdates to them. This was a problem because the dates have to be correct for international travel.

    Contacting eDreams was a nightmare but they finally answered an email, claiming we entered all of the birthdays wrong, which was a flagrant lie disproven by their confirmation email. eDreams said they had no responsibility to correct their error and we had to contact the airline. The airline charged us a $600 fee ($120 per ticket) to change the dates. eDreams therefore owes us $600 we were forced to pay as a result of their mistake.

    We thought about canceling the booking ("24 hour cancelation") but ruled this out when we saw all of the online complaints about eDreams customers customers never receiving their refunds.
