Gift-tag drama that actually ended well

Servicethe policy exists, sure, but the team handled it with actual common sense. Makes me feel better about buying there in future, despite my earlier hesitation. Small win, feels human.

Deliverythis was a bad experience — I lost money and got zero help. I ordered a pair of sunglasses I liked from the Ashford outlet because I needed something for an upcoming holiday (wanted a little treat and needed better sun protection). The shop didn’t have my style in stock, so the salesperson said they’d order them and I’d get them in 3–4 business days. I got an email receipt, that was it — no tracking, no delivery updates. The promised window passed and nada. Then the Ashford store closed temporarily (ok), but every other location I called said they couldn’t do anything. Customer service phone is an AI bot that doesn’t help, and the email replies I eventually got just said they forwarded my case to Ashford — which is closed. So I’m out £135, without shades and with a holiday coming up. I was excited about the purchase, now just frustrated and stuck. Won’t be buying here again, and I wouldn’t recommend this route to anyone who actually wants their order.
Frustrating return, but glad it ended alright

Returns & Refundsannoying but eventually sorted, and I'm glad I pushed back. I ordered three pairs of sunglasses a few weeks ago (total £593.70), used a £300 gift card and charged the rest to my credit card. First impressions were fine — nice packaging, frames looked good — so I thought this would be an easy swap when I returned one pair. I returned the one worth £204.80 and expected that amount back onto my card. Instead Sunglass Hut put £101.31 back on my card and quietly issued £103.49 as a new gift card without asking. I had explicitly said I wanted the refund to the original payment method. I called and wrote customer service multiple times, even sent a corrected breakdown, and mostly got radio silence or the runaround. They told me the only way to get the full amount to my card was to return everything and repurchase — which felt like a bad joke. So I opened a dispute with my credit card company and that finally moved things; I'm grateful the issuer helped recover the remaining balance. I still like the glasses and the delivery was fine, but the refund handling and customer service left a sour taste. If you're buying, double-check how returns will be processed and be ready to fight for your money — annoying, but I got there in the end. Lesson learned, I guess, and yes, I'm picky.
Paying for the name, not the strength

Productnot worth the price. I bought a pair of Persol sunnies through Sunglass Hut and I wouldn’t do it again based on this run. To be fair, when they arrived a few days before I started wearing them they looked and felt premium — good weight, clean finish — so my first impression was positive. Then a light gust knocked them off my face within a week and the frame split where the temple meets the rim. Lenses were fine, the break was purely structural. I contacted customer support several times, filed the requested complaint, and all I got back was a note saying this wasn’t a “quality issue” and that they could only move forward with the protection plan (which I’d bought). No explanation why a small fall isn’t quality-related, no real engagement, no apology — just a canned response and an email sign-off. That felt dismissive. The protection plan offer was the only concrete outcome, which is something, but it doesn’t address why the frame failed so easily on a minor drop. Bottom line: product performs okay when intact, but durability here is suspect and the support interaction left me underwhelmed. If you care most about after-sale handling and longevity, I’d look elsewhere. If you just want the look and are OK gambling on repairs, that’s a different call.

Returns & RefundsI was halfway through my third chat with support when PayPal pinged me that the refund was being processed. Didn’t expect that to be the resolution, honestly. I first noticed the sunglasses in a mall display—my sister had actually texted a photo and said they looked sharp, so I ordered, a bit unsure about price and fit. Those pre-purchase doubts were small compared with what came after. The product itself wasn’t the issue; it was getting my money back that turned into a headache. Multiple online chats promised the refund, calls were basically impossible to connect to, and each escalation felt like starting over. One reply even said my glasses were ready for store pickup — which missed the whole point since I’d asked for a refund. A rep named Jason emailed a form to fill out that I’d already filled out repeatedly; felt like nobody had read my notes. I did the form again, submitted everything, and waited. Meanwhile PayPal stepped in and resolved the dispute, and the refund showed pending on my card. So in the end I’m relieved and kind of glad it wrapped up without me having to keep chasing forever. That said, the customer service process needs a lot of work — too many steps, too many canned replies. If you’re buying, be ready to be persistent, and consider using PayPal or another buyer protection option just in case. Happy it was sorted, but not impressed by the service.
