SmallRig - Reviews and experiences

I bought a quick-release camera rig from this company not too long ago, hoping to get it pretty quickly. But after waiting a few days with no updates on when it would be shipped, I decided to contact their customer service for some answers. They told me it would be shipped within 2 days, but nothing happened. So, feeling frustrated with the lack of updates and the delayed shipment, I asked for a refund. Unfortunately, they ended up denying my request for a refund. All in all, my experience with this company wasn't great and I would suggest others to look at different options for their equipment needs.

I bought a Tripod Mounting Plate from SmallRig, but I had to return it because it didn't meet my expectations. They said I would get a refund since I didn't use it, but it's been 5 months and I still haven't received it. The post office handled the return package tracking number and I can't find it. I've tried contacting SmallRig several times, but they won't give me a refund. Their lack of responsibility and follow-through has left me really unhappy with their service. My friends and I won't buy from SmallRig again. I found Tilta to have better customer service and would recommend them instead.

The return process and shipping experience were terrible. They sent all the items in different boxes, and I had to return each one. They don't give you return labels, you need a long reference number in every package, they want photos before sending it back, and you have to cover the return costs. It's slow to deal with returns.

I just ordered some photography equipment from SmallRig and had it sent to Norway. When I got the package, I found out I had to pay extra customs and broker fees. I contacted SmallRig's customer service, and after a bit of a wait because of the pandemic in China, they asked for proof of the fees. I sent over the documents they needed, and I was happy to get a full refund on the fees.
