Postage surprise, not a fan

Checkout

the site never showed that postage at checkout, only on the receipt after payment. I emailed right away and they cancelled the order (phew), so at least that part was handled quickly. They say it was a courier glitch; maybe, although I’ve ordered tiny fragrance bits from other shops with way cheaper postage. Glad it was sorted, but still annoyed — it shook my trust a bit. Would double-check next time.

Not great customer support

Communication

Right after I pinged them about batch codes, I already felt uneasy — I was on the fence about buying. The first reply was short and blunt, no real explanation, which made me pause and write back annoyed. They did apologize later with a more thoughtful message, so that calmed me down a bit. I went ahead and bought the cream and now use it every morning; it does the job, blends in well with my skincare routine and hasn't caused issues. Still, the whole exchange left a sour taste. If you deal with expiry info on consumables, put batch numbers and dates on the label — saves everyone time. Small detail, but it would restore trust faster. I'm not thrilled, but the product itself is decent, so I might reorder if they sort out their communication.

Missing parcel saga but not all bad

Communication

Halfway through my morning coffee I realised the parcel never arrived, and that kicked off a weird week. I was pretty nervous before ordering because I run a tiny shop and needed stock fast, so I hesitated — would it show up, would customer service be any good, that sort of thing. Turns out my worries about the delivery were, well, unfortunately justified. DPD told me the retailer had to raise the issue, not me, so I fired off three emails to Pure Scented and ... crickets. I phoned once and was told they’d contact DPD and that I could just reorder, which I didn’t want to do in case the first lot turned up later. After a week with no reply I finally asked my bank for a chargeback — not ideal, but it got my money back and honestly I felt relieved. I still like the brand and the items would’ve been perfect for the shop, so I’m hopeful they get their customer care sorted. Small businesses deserve better follow through.

Mixed bag, glad it ended OK

Returns & Refunds

Honestly, in the end I’m glad it worked out, even though it was a messy ride. I bought a rouge fragrance oil after a friend recommended PureScented — saw their page on Instagram first, looked promising — but the oil I got smelled nothing like rouge, more like a headache in a bottle. Customer service told me to ship it back at my expense and said they’d refund postage only if they found it was their mistake. That kicked off a long back-and-forth with couriers that don’t always take fragrance oils, so I paid extra and even had the parcel returned to me once. It was frustrating, clunky, and the return policy felt unfair. On the positive side they eventually accepted the issue and processed a refund, including the postage, so I’m relieved and thankful it didn’t end worse. I’d say be cautious — if you’re happy to fight for a refund it can work, but I wouldn’t recommend them if you want something easy.

Quick, tidy delivery and helpful service

Service

the extra “gift” bottle they tossed in wasn’t to my taste — that’s on me, not them — but I appreciate the gesture. Tip for others: if you’re picky about a scent, maybe note that at checkout or ask first. All in all, pleased it went smoothly and I’ll recommend them to friends and family.

That small "yes" moment

Product

I was halfway through a testing week when it hit me. A candle I’d made for a market stall smelled the same in the shop as it did in my kitchen. No fading, no weird soapy undertones. That’s when I knew I’d found a keeper. I’d tried lots of suppliers before, some oils were alright, some smelled off or too soapy, and a few forced you to buy large sample sizes which I didn’t want. Pure Scented let me try 10 ml bottles and that made a big difference while I experimented. Their scents sit true in my melts and customers actually ask where I source them, which feels good. Not perfect though — they don’t include free CLP labels and they’re pretty quiet on social media compared with others. Delivery runs through Amazon here and one time the order was mixed up, but it was sorted quickly and I appreciated that. All in all I keep coming back. Practical, reliable and the scents win me over every time. Give them a shot if you make small-batch things like I do.
