Worth it, with caveats

ServiceI’d buy from them again — but only after you’re prepared for a bit of a hassle. The stuff itself is decent and prices are fair, so I’m happy overall, even if the service wasn’t flawless. Quick story: they once shipped and charged me for items I didn’t order. Annoying, sure, and returning them meant I temporarily paid the shipping because their return policy is strict. Customer service was brusque that time, which rubbed me the wrong way. On a different occasion a lawn mower wouldn’t start — I swapped batteries, tried everything, and still no go. Calling them was a mixed bag: I got hung up on a couple times and different agents asked for tons of serial numbers and troubleshooting steps, which was frustrating since I was calling for my dad who doesn’t speak much English. That said, if you follow their process they will eventually move things along; it just takes patience. Compared to other companies I’ve dealt with, this one sits in the middle — not the worst, not the best. My advice: document everything, be firm about a return label, and don’t expect a quick fix over the phone. With that in mind, good value and decent products, just be ready to push a bit on the service side.

Productit cuts well when it works, feels like a pro-level tool in the hand, and batteries are fine (I even bought extras thinking I’d use it a lot). But reliability and parts availability matter more than raw power; if a cheap plastic cartridge can disable the whole unit after two uses, that’s a design or QA problem. I returned it to Costco in the end — not because the motor was bad, but because I don’t want to babysit a tool that might stop mid-job and then be impossible to fix. Slightly annoyed, slightly thankful for the replacement, but overall not confident I’d buy another without proof they fixed the spare-parts issue.

Returns & Refunds
I’d used the thing. So, used equals no return. I tried to argue that you kinda have to run a machine to know if it works, and I got a lot of sympathetic-sounding lines but zero useful options.
Delivery itself was fine — it showed up when they said it would — but their support for a dud product? Not good. I’m disappointed because I wanted to avoid shovelling and hoped past good buys meant they’d stand behind their stuff. In the end, I’m left with a snowblower that can’t handle Canadian wet snow and nowhere to turn. Frustrating.

ProductThere’s nothing like being halfway through fixing a sagging fence and watching your battery go from “plenty” to dead in about five minutes. That happened to me with one of the Greenworks pieces I bought — and honestly, it was the straw. I’ve collected maybe half a dozen of their tools over the years (because hey, electric is appealing and lighter to lug around), but the batteries have been inconsistent at best. Some lasted a season, some croaked the day after the warranty expired, and a couple just never held a decent charge. It’s that little drop-off in runtime that sneaks up on you and ruins a Saturday.

Service
I was kind of surprised how much of this ended up being about the service, not the blower itself. Got the unit in early January and the delivery arrived on time, no fuss. First thing I noticed was the battery only lasted about 15 minutes. Not great, but I called and the support team swapped the pack out quickly. That part went smoothly and I was honestly pretty relieved — customer service handled that well and that matters a lot to me.
After the replacement battery things were fine for a while. Used the blower maybe ten times over a couple of months. Then mid-February we had a decent dump here in the GTA, about 15 cm. I charged the battery, went out to clear the driveway and the machine wouldn’t start. Battery was good, terminals checked with a meter, everything normal. The small safety switch that has to engage when you pull the lever wasn’t making contact. So the unit wouldn’t run. Frustrating, yeah, but the manual even mentions a defective switch as a known problem, which at least told me this isn’t totally new.
Calling warranty got mixed results. The reps were polite and helpful on the phone, again a plus. But the nearest authorized service depot is over 50 km away and only open during daytime hours. That’s a real pain. No option to ship it in, no advance replacement. For anyone who works full time, that’s a big hurdle — you’re basically looking at a full day off or two trips. That part soured the experience.
All that said, I’m glad the company’s customer service was responsive when the battery failed. They earned some trust there. If you’re thinking of buying this blower, just ask about service locations first. Know where you’d take it if something goes wrong. Maybe they’ll improve depot options, I hope so. For now I’d rate the delivery and support highly, but be realistic about repairs. Overall I’m thankful the initial issue was handled quick, and I’m cautiously optimistic they’ll step up the service network.
