We were on a cruise and I grabbed the $31 talk/text/data plan so my boyfriend and I could meet up when we split for activities. At first it felt okay — we managed three texts and I scrolled through three Instagram reels. Then everything stopped. Calls never worked. Texts died. I got a top-up prompt and tried calling customer service, but ended up on hold forever and then the call dropped. When I finally reached the automated message it said support is only Mon–Fri 8–5 in a timezone that made no sense for us down in the Bahamas. I tried to top up online and my card got rejected. Only later did I notice the site didn’t actually list the Bahamas as supported, even though it led me to believe I had coverage. Looking at the rates afterwards made my jaw drop — like almost a dollar per MB. I can’t shake the feeling that the whole $31 got eaten by those three reels. On the bright side, I’m glad we could at least text a bit; that helped a little. If I could give one tip it’s to double-check the country coverage and have a backup plan — local SIM or ship Wi‑Fi. Also, customer service needs better hours and clearer billing info. I’m relieved it wasn’t totally useless, but I wouldn’t trust this for anything important.
