Charged me for months after I thought I’d cancelled
Charged me for months after I thought I’d cancelled
Priceit was a pain, but after I hounded them a bit I actually got things fixed and a refund — not spotless, but better than nothing. I needed this service for a last-minute tenant background check during a stressful move, so I called in February and the rep told me flat-out “you’re cancelled.” Great, I thought, problem solved. Except it wasn’t. For nine months $28.99 kept disappearing from my account. I only noticed when I checked a statement and, yep, there it was — little charges like clockwork. Calling back was awkward because they’re on Eastern hours and I often missed them, plus the first person I spoke with later claimed there was no cancellation on record. The agent I reached the second time offered one month back, then maybe two when I pushed, and seemed pretty shruggy about the whole thing — I said I hadn’t used it for nine months and they just didn’t record my original cancellation. I escalated, asked for a supervisor, and after some back-and-forth they agreed to a fuller refund and tossed in an extra month free as a gesture. Still annoying and could’ve been handled so much better, but in the end they made it right enough that I’m not still fuming.
Quiet charge surprise
Quiet charge surprise
Pricepolite but not empowered or thorough, no clear records of my first cancellation call (I told them when I called before) and no follow-up emails. The product itself works for the odd lookup in daily life — it does what it says — but between the billing hiccup and the weak customer support, I’m left with a bad taste. Could be an honest mistake, but it cost me time and money and that’s not easy to shrug off.
