SETAPP - Reviews and experiences

I've been a SETAPP subscriber for a while now, and my experience has been kinda mixed. I originally signed up because they have so many apps for Mac and iOS, including iPadOS. But I was bummed to find out that they're asking for more money to access their newer iOS apps. It seems pretty unfair to charge 50% more per device, especially when there's way fewer apps on iOS compared to Mac. Even SETAPP's support team admits there aren't many iOS apps, so it's hard to see why they're upping the price.

I've been using the subscription service for a while now, and it gives me access to a bunch of Mac apps. But lately, the company decided to start charging for the mobile apps that go along with the Mac app. So now, users have to either use a mobile device as one of their allowed spots or pay extra. I was pretty bummed out by this change because it meant an extra cost that I wasn't expecting. But even with that, I still like using the service and find it really useful for my work.

I used to really like this subscription service, as it had a bunch of handy apps that I could use for a monthly fee. But lately, they've made some changes that have really let me down. They all of a sudden said I could only use the service on a limited number of devices without telling me beforehand, and now they want to charge me extra for each mobile device. I think it's a clear way for them to try and make more money off of us loyal customers, which just isn't right. A bunch of long-time users are rightfully upset and are cancelling their subscriptions. It's really too bad to see such a good service go downhill because of greedy management decisions.

I've been using this app library subscription for a few years now and I gotta say, I'm really impressed with it. Instead of having to pay for each individual app or getting stuck in monthly payments for specific software, Setapp gives you a whole bunch of apps for one reasonable monthly fee. It's saved me a ton of money and hassle, plus I get access to all kinds of top-notch apps for just one price. The updates and new apps they keep adding make it even better and more exciting, so it's definitely worth the money. I would definitely recommend Setapp to anyone looking for an easy and affordable way to get a bunch of different apps.

I'm really liking the apps that come with the subscription, but I do have some concerns about the long-term value. A lot of the apps offer those lifetime upgrades instead of a subscription model, and that just makes more sense to me financially. I mean, for $10 a month, getting $100 worth of lifetime licenses sounds like a way better deal. If they keep adding more apps or extras to the subscription, then it would definitely catch my eye more. Right now, I'm using and loving 10 apps, but I wouldn't mind seeing more subscription-based apps added to up the overall value. I get that some folks might prefer apps like Ulysses, but personally, I'm all about those one-time payment apps that end up being more cost-effective than a yearly subscription.
