That moment I actually believed they'd make it right
That moment I actually believed they'd make it right
ComplaintsI was looking at my banking app one evening — just scrolling — and saw that extra debit. That’s the exact second I knew something was off, and for a brief minute I thought, okay, they’ll fix this. Back in July 2025 my husband and I signed up for service and were told they'd pull my credit to see if a deposit was needed. Fine. Then after the check they told me I had a line of credit for the alarm gear. I hadn't been told that, the installer didn’t mention it, and I definitely paid for the equipment outright. Also, the card I used for the purchase wound up on auto-draft for the monthly fee, which I wasn’t warned about. The first monthly hit and overdrafted an account I was trying to close — not great. I’ve called Safestreet and ADT about eight times, talked to two different managers who both said they messed up and that a refund would be issued. That admission was the little win — I believed it for a moment. Then nothing was actually submitted. Today, on our most recent call (11/12/2025), they put a $5 credit on the account instead of sending the full refund. They won’t escalate me past the floor manager, and Safestreet sends me to ADT while ADT sends me back. All I want is the money I’m owed — we were charged twice for the same month. The amount left is $55.42. It’s a boring, small claim, but it’s also basic accountability. The experience wasn’t terrible from a tech/installation standpoint, but the billing and communication have been poor, and that undercuts everything. A quick, honest refund would’ve ended this; instead it’s dragged on.

Complaintsdon’t let anyone power up equipment or start work until you have a clear, written agreement. Take photos right away. If you’re considering ADT, be cautious — they didn’t stand behind the work or the so-called free offer in my case.
