Power PDF Standard 3.x software
After fixing up my computer on August 30, 2023, I found out that I couldn't activate my Power PDF Standard 3.x software anymore. Turns out the activation server for the product got shut down, and it's built right into the software. The old serial number just won't cut it to get it working again. I got in touch with support, gave them my serial numbers and hardware IDs, and explained the problem, asking for a new activation key. Their response was that the software I have is OEM, so I need to contact the printer manufacturer. The printer folks sent me back to Kofax because they can't make a new activation code - it's all dependent on Kofax or Nuance, the original makers before Kofax took over. Now, thanks to reinstalling, I gotta scrap the software since Kofax/Nuance won't let me activate it. I'll be on the hunt for another company's product and definitely won't recommend anything from Kofax to my clients, even though you can still buy the software on places like eBay and Amazon.
PDF editing software
Kofax PDF is just not user-friendly at all, you know? I can't do any of the cool things I need to do like editing all objects, converting PDFs to be completely editable, or getting rid of those annoying lines on images. And trying to have multiple PDFs open at once without crashing? Forget about it - the software just can't handle it, you know? My super important, top-secret PDFs are so old and were scanned from paper copies - I can't recreate them in AutoCAD or SolidWorks without going through a bunch of hoops with government agencies. It's like Kofax is making my job way too difficult, you know? I've wasted so much time trying to edit these PDFs when I could have been done in minutes with Adobe Acrobat. Don't waste your money on software that's about as useful as a snowblower in the summer!
Tried to contact the company, but no luck!
Eh, so I was trying to get in touch with the company for some help, but I couldn't find their email anywhere, eh. It's like all they care about is selling stuff, which is so yeah, not cool, you know? I used to think Paperport was alright, but now it seems like these companies just want to make a buck instead of helping out their customers. I'm done with Paperport, and now I'm ditching Kofax too. Boo, hiss, right?
Lack of service
My experience with this company has been really disappointing. I can't recommend them or their products because they don't provide any service at all. I've tried calling multiple times but haven't been able to talk to anyone, and they haven't responded to my messages. The customer support is terrible and it's made me feel really frustrated and dissatisfied with what I bought.
Nuance PDF software purchase
I recently got Nuance PDF software, eh, and ran into a real annoying problem. Out of nowhere, the software just stopped working and started showing a note saying it was a Trial Version on all my PDF files. So, I did some digging and found out that Nuance got taken over by another company, which looked like it was the reason for the software acting up. Even after reaching out to their Tech support for help, the problem just wouldn't get fixed after months of talking back and forth and even giving them remote access to my computer.
Software purchase inquiry
I just wanted to see if that PDF software you guys have could convert files to MS Publisher. The sales department told me it could, but turns out that wasn't entirely true when I tried out the trial version. It's pretty frustrating when companies aren't straight up about what their product can actually do.
Power PDF Advanced software experience
I ran into a big problem with the software that just couldn't get sorted out even after talking to customer service a bunch of times. Even when they were able to see and control my computer from afar, the problem stuck around and ended up causing more issues for my system. The customer service folks wouldn't take things to the next level without more access to my computer, which just made things even more frustrating and annoying. In the end, I had to reformat my system to finally fix all the messes caused by their failed attempts to solve the original problem.
Support ticket issue in Kofax Power PDF Standard
What a total nightmare trying to get help from the customer support team at this company. I reached out for help at the end of December and spent almost two months giving them everything they asked for, only to hear that they couldn't assist me because I'm an individual retail licensee and not a corporate customer. The way they dealt with it was so disrespectful and unprofessional. It felt like I was doing their job for them for no pay, and I won't be buying from them ever again.
Technical support for Nuance products
After having a bit of a rough go with Kofax once they took over Nuance, I was actually quite pleased with the tech support I received. Usually, when one company buys another, the service quality tends to drop, especially for older versions of the software. But this time was different - the tech support I got for my problem with an old version of Omnipage was really impressive. The tech support guy, Sourav, was not only friendly but also super patient and knew his stuff. Despite my slow internet and crackly phone line, Sourav was able to figure out and fix the issue quickly. What really stood out was how smoothly he handled interruptions for downloading updates, which was a big improvement from past experiences. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised by Kofax.
PDF converter purchase
I just bought a PDF converter and it suddenly stopped working. I reached out to tech support and found out that the company that made it got taken over by another one. The new company isn't really helpful for people who bought the converter from the old one. It's frustrating because they're not doing a good job of keeping us in the loop or helping us sort out the problem. I'm really hoping KOFAX steps in and fixes this situation soon.
