SPOT - Reviews and experiences

I just got this tracking device from a store nearby but I'm having a lot of trouble trying to activate it. I've been following the Quick Start Guide but I can't seem to connect to the activation link no matter what I do. It's really bugging me because I've been trying multiple times every day and can't get it to work. I read some bad reviews online too, so now I'm thinking about returning it because of all these problems.

So, eh, I bought some waterproof GPS trackers from this one place and let me tell ya, what a waste of money. The package said they were waterproof, but c'mon, after a bit of rain they conked out on me. I had to keep replacing them cuz they kept getting wrecked by water. If they can't handle a bit of moisture, how are they gonna survive in the marine environments they're supposed to be good for, eh? Do yourself a favor and steer clear of these trackers, okay?

As a happy customer of SPOT, I've been using the Spot X unit for two years now and I have to say that I am really happy with my purchase. Despite some negative reviews I've seen, I haven't had any issues with their customer service, payment processing, texting features, tracking abilities, custom message settings, and more. This unit has really exceeded my expectations in terms of performance, though I will admit there was a bit of a learning curve. But, by taking the time to read the manual and watch some instructional videos online, I was able to learn how to use the device to its fullest potential. Overall, I'm very happy with the Spot X unit.

I recently bought a GPS tracking system from this company and honestly, it's been a total letdown. No matter how many times I tried, the device just couldn't lock onto the satellites and the test sequence failed every single time. The instructions they gave, whether in print or online, were confusing and incomplete, which made setting up the system a real challenge. As someone who really depends on GPS for important stuff like navigating through the wilderness, I was really disappointed by how poorly this product performed. I've used other GPS systems before like MIL DAGR, and I was expecting way better results from this company. All in all, based on my experience, I definitely wouldn't recommend this GPS tracking system.
