Third time’s not the charm
Third time’s not the charm
Returns & Refundsthis was a pricey gift and I kept thinking, “Is this worth it?” Still, I bought it as a Mother’s Day present, hoping it would look nice on the counter and actually make coffee. At first customer service seemed decent — they sent a replacement after I boxed up the first one and shipped it back. That eased my doubts a bit; I told myself maybe I’d overreacted. Then the replacement died after a few months with the same weird flashing error. Cue more troubleshooting calls, packaging, returns… you know the drill. They sent another unit, asked for proof the old one was unusable (I even had to cut a cord off), and I thought, okay, annoying but fine, hopefully done. Nope. Third unit arrived and it greeted us with the exact same problem. At that point my doubts weren’t eased, they were full-on loud — I felt stuck in an absurd loop of returns and hold music. The funny side? My mom kept saying she appreciated the effort, which made me laugh when I wanted to cry. The company did offer replacements and at times seemed helpful, but after three failures you begin to wonder whether the issue is design, manufacturing, or just terrible luck. The unit’s idea is solid — intuitive controls, nice footprint — but reality didn’t match the promise. I finally gave up and asked for a refund; I wasn’t willing to wait through another “quality team” investigation. If you’re on the fence because of price, I’d be wary. If you already own one and it’s working, great — keep it — but if you’re buying as a gift, maybe lower your expectations or pick something less likely to come back with blinking lights.
