Kitchen spinner that looked great, then cracked
Kitchen spinner that looked great, then cracked
ProductI’m glad I found an affordable replacement quickly and that the product worked well until it didn’t, but I’m disappointed with the lack of support and the gap between the company’s “made to last” claim and my experience. I won’t pay top dollar again, but I am thankful I could replace it without much fuss and that a friend tipped me off so I at least got a good short-term product out of it.

Product
if you mostly want regular coffee or K-cups, this thing does okay. The espresso pod side? Not so much. I got this as the “free” party gift (we had a party in January, I received the machine in February), and at first I was pretty stoked — looked versatile, compact, the rep was lovely and actually knew her stuff. First few weeks it brewed regular grounds and K-cups like a champ. Then I tried the espresso pods and learned patience in a new way.
I’m telling you this from the middle of a kitchen disaster: I paused, poked, resealed, scrubbed, repeated — ended up making one cup three times, with water and grounds across my counter. Had to strain the drink because grounds had spewed everywhere. Not exactly barista-level service. It seems to blow the seal on the pod insert, then water finds its way out the back and onto the counter. Sometimes it’s just a quick pause-and-fix, sometimes it’s a full restart with a new pod (which gets expensive).
Customer rep was great — really — but the company policies are odd. My warranty is tied to the month of the party (January), even though I didn’t get the unit until February, and that made a replacement messy. They did send a new espresso pod insert in May, but the problem looks like it’s with how the machine directs water, not the insert itself. I have a return label but because it’s holiday season they won’t send a replacement until I ship this one back. So now I’m waiting on a box big enough to return it in. Classic.
I don’t want to sound dramatic — it’s not completely useless. For daily coffee it’s been reliable, and when it works the espresso pods do deliver a decent shot. Just be ready for hiccups, or for frequent kitchen cleanup. I’m honestly curious if others have this issue; feels like it might be a design flaw rather than a one-off. I’m torn between keeping it for the convenience and sending it back the minute I can box it up.
