I bought a block track kit thinking a chill weekend project, but man — the pieces are so flimsy they don’t click together properly, rails sit crooked and tiny clips snap if you look at them funny. It kinda works if you force it, but it feels cheap and wobbly, and the finish is rough. Worse, returns are a nightmare — apparently you pay to send it all back to China, often costing more than the kit. I’ve had better from small hobby sellers. Not happy, really.

I actually spotted this on Instagram and thought, why not. At first I was sceptical — order confirmations were confusing and there was no paperwork with the package, so I braced for trouble. A colleague told me to hang on and test it anyway. I did. The build felt cheap-ish, but once I used it, it surprised me. That little moment — it just worked — is when I relaxed and told my coworker they were right. Bit of a hassle up front, but overall pleased.

I saw this toy in an online ad and a friend even recommended it, so I ordered it for my son’s stocking. It arrived after about two weeks and at first it seemed fine — little lights came on for a second — then nothing. Feels light and a bit flimsy in your hands, buttons are mushy. Worse, the battery compartment had no screw, which worried me given little kids and batteries. I contacted customer service for a replacement and... radio silence so far. Surprising, packaging was tidy though.

I’m actually pleased in the end, even though I started out ready to call it a scam. I ordered a kids’ makeup kit for rainy-day crafts and immediately tried to cancel because plans changed. At first they ignored my emails and the package went out anyway, which made me nervous — I kept thinking “here we go.” The parcel arrived and, yeah, the label warned not to use near eyes or mouth, which seemed off for a kid product. So I steered it toward craft use only — face decals and painted rocks, not skin — and held off using it on my niece. After a few more messages (a bit of waiting, I won’t lie) customer service finally replied, apologetic and helpful, offering a refund or a safer replacement. I chose the replacement and they followed through. It wasn’t smooth, there were annoying pauses and I had to pester them a few times, but the folks on the other end fixed it and were friendly once they engaged. Now it lives in my craft corner; we use it for costume practice and posters, and the kids love the colours. So yes, sceptical start, but turned into a decent experience. Not perfect, but I’d try them again, just with extra patience.

Parcel looked like it had been in a fight. I ordered a vacuum set as a gift and it arrived with the box taped up, parts bent and scratched. Just ugly. I couldn't give it away. Contacted support and they said sorry, that's not okay, and first offered only 10% back. After pushing they bumped it to 30%. They also said I could return it for a full refund but I'd have to pay to ship from the UK to the EU. That felt unreasonable. I've had damaged deliveries before but other companies at least covered postage. Not perfect, but okay once they agreed to the 30%.
