I wouldn’t bet on Chubbies for a smooth order, though the actual stuff I got was fine — comfy, true to size — so I’m relieved it wasn’t worse. I actually first noticed them on Instagram a while back, and my buddy Tom tipped me about a big sale, so I took the plunge. Last year I had an order that kept getting pushed and then a customer rep promised a meaningful fix (a sale price plus another perk) — I liked the gesture, but by the time I wanted to use it most items were sold out and the offer just slipped away. This year I tried again thinking maybe that was a one-off. Nope: split shipment, late beyond their window, and when I reminded them of the previous broken promise they handed me a generic 15% code and said that was it. I pushed, got “there’s nothing more we can do,” which felt dismissive. It’s annoying because the product itself wasn’t bad and I’m actually glad the shorts fit and are holding up — small win. But the pattern of vague timelines, quiet expiries, and canned responses makes me hesitating to tell others about them now. I did recommend them to my sister before all this; won’t do that again without warning — fine stuff, just unreliable process.
