I traded in some gear last month while clearing space. Delivery arrived faster than I thought. Customer service replied quickly. First impression was relaxed and efficient. A few small delays, but worth it.
Walk test sealed it

Tested the lens on a morning walk, got sharp shots — that's when I knew it fit my daily shooting. Free strap was handy; price a little steep

I'll buy from Adorama again. Daniel's help made the purchase painless. I was nervous spending on new pricey gear, after some rough runs with other shops, but their service calmed me down.

Picked up a lens for my Hasselblad, but it was a dud — took about 15 seconds to focus on a mountain, totally unusable. Adorama let me return it, gave a full refund and really made everything super easy. I’ve already ordered the 35–100 E; hoping that one’s better.

totally worth it — the trade-in was painless and I actually got a decent offer. Saw Adorama on a photography forum and my buddy tipped me to try them. They matched competing quotes and even threw in a lens-purchase bonus. Smooth process, no drama, really, too.
Surprising trade-in win

Used their appraisal service a few months ago after shooting a wedding last fall. First thought was "okay, let's see" — then they gave a fair estimate, faster than I expected, and I could swap for newer gear without a fuss. Really handy for our little videography community; surprised how smooth and honest the whole thing felt.
Paid fast, smooth trade-in

I sent in some old Nikon kit last month and wasn’t expecting much. They walked me through the inspection, kept me updated, and after I picked ACH to my bank they confirmed and deposited the cash in under an hour — which was a pleasant surprise. I used the payout to restock camera batteries for my daily shoots; felt relieved and impressed.
Wasn't sure at first

call first and inspect in person. Would like clearer online notes though
Half good, half meh
Half good, half meh
the Nikon lenses I sent in were actually in great shape when they checked them, and that was a small pleasant surprise. Problem was the whole quote dance. They gave me an initial estimate that sounded fair, so I shipped the lenses in, thinking cool, done. Weeks later I get a message offering about half of the first number. Half. After a polite ask for a re-check I waited, and… crickets. Eventually I followed up again and they stuck to the lower amount. That flip-flop and the lack of clear communication annoyed me more than the money, honestly. It felt vague, like the first quote was a hook and then the real value showed up later. The folks I talked to were professional, sure, but their replies had this flat, corporate tone — polite but not really on my side, if that makes sense. I do want to say this: if you’re buying from them, you’ll probably find good equipment and reasonable prices; if you’re selling, be prepared to push for clarity and insist on timelines. My advice: take detailed photos, get confirmation in writing, and be ready for a delay. I won’t send my lenses there again, but I hope whoever bought them gets some great shots — the glass deserved better than the back-and-forth I had.
Wrong camera, right hand feel — but not what I paid for

I ordered a Sony FX3 because I need something reliable for run-and-gun video work. What showed up was a used Nikon D5200. It’s weird to describe being grateful and annoyed at the same time, but here we are. The D5200 is small and familiar in the hand. Feels plasticky compared with the FX3 I wanted. The grip was worn, some buttons were shiny from use, and the lens had light scuffs. It worked — kind of — but not the way I planned to use it. I found someone’s memory card inside with a bunch of personal photos and clips. That was the moment the whole thing stopped being just an unpleasant surprise and became a hassle.
