Reason Studios - Reviews and experiences

I was really upset to see how the company treated its customers when it came to the software they sold under a perpetual license. It's not right for them to just take away something that was supposed to be permanent. Customers should be able to decide for themselves if they want to keep using the software, no matter how long they've had it. This kind of business move is just plain rude and it reflects poorly on the company. I won't stand by businesses that act unethically like this and I'll definitely be telling others to watch out for them.

This was my first time contacting customer service. I reached out and got a response in just 2 days. The customer service rep was really friendly and helpful, and they were able to solve my problem quickly.

OMG, eh? Don't even bother getting that music software, I swear. They don't even support it at all! Like, if you're expecting updates down the road, forget about it! It's not a lifetime license, it's more like a "lifetime scam"! What a rip off, eh. SMH.

Eh, so the software itself is just awesome for checking out different sounds, eh? It's been one of my go-to DAWs for like, over 10 years now, eh? But gotta say, my recent dealings with the customer support team have been kind of a letdown, eh? Spent a good chunk of change on the Reason Suite 11 mostly because I wanted that Reason rack VST plugin, eh? But, wouldn't you know it, that plugin started crashing my main DAW, eh? Couldn't even open up the project I was knee-deep in, eh? Tried everything to fix it, even figured out there was an issue with the Reason license server, but after three weeks, still no word from the support team, eh? For the price tag on this product, this lack of support is just not on, eh?

I've tried contacting the support team quite a few times, but it feels like they never get back to me quickly. Once in a blue moon, I'll get an email with a suggestion that doesn't really help, and then I won't hear from them for months. I even requested a refund for everything because I can't add or edit a rex slice in the software, which is from the same company that makes Recycle. However, I never heard anything back about it.

It really sucks that I shelled out for Reason Suite and now I can't even use it unless I'm online. Like, what if I'm out on a boat in the middle of the ocean and I feel inspired to lay down some sick beats? It's just not cool, man.

I just bought this VST Rack plugin that has some amazing synths. But when I tried to use it, I ran into a problem with compatibility. I reached out to customer support, but didn't hear back from them for more than a week. Turns out, if you create racks during the 30-day free trial and then buy the Intro version, they might not work together. I had to transfer presets manually to fix it, which was a pain. Just a heads up that you might not get quick help with technical issues for this software, unlike other music software companies that have better customer service.

Reason Studios is absolutely amazing, it totally exceeded my expectations! The rack and SSL mixer are so versatile, it feels like I'm in a professional studio right from my computer. I love all the free high-quality tools in the shop that have really helped me be more creative without breaking the bank. The support from Reason Studios is fantastic, their team is always there to help with any issues that come up. As a long-time user, I think having a special version for new musicians would be a great idea. And it would be cool to see them use AI in the future to make things even easier and bring more people together in the community.
