Photobucket is an American image hosting and video hosting website, web services suite, and online community dedicated to preserving and sharing the entire photo and video lifecycle. Founded in 2003 by Alex Welch and Darren Crystal in Denver, Colorado, Photobucket provides its users with an interface to upload, share, link, and find photos, videos, and graphics. The service allows users to store thousands of digital images and videos for free, supporting widespread sharing across the internet, including on social media platforms and blogs. Over the years, Photobucket has undergone several changes in ownership and business models, including introducing a controversial pricing model in 2017 that restricted image linking and hosting for third-party websites without a substantial fee, which was widely criticized and subsequently dialed back. As of my last knowledge update, Photobucket continues to serve as a repository for millions of users' photos and videos, despite facing challenges from newer, more flexible image-sharing services.
