Hadestown is a stage musical for theatre audiences, based on the Orpheus and Eurydice myth and the story of Hades and Persephone. Created with music, lyrics, and book by Anaïs Mitchell and directed by Rachel Chavkin, it originated as a 2010 concept album before being developed for the stage. The production is performed in English and presented in professional theatre venues, with staged runs in North America and internationally.
