Upgrade paid, still not there — buyer beware
Upgrade paid, still not there — buyer beware
Follow-upI paid for a bigger plan to stop our game server from melting down, and months later the crucial part — the RAM — still isn’t applied. So yeah, don’t assume a paid upgrade equals an instant upgrade. I run this server for a small group of regular players, it’s part of my weekly routine, and when it’s stable everyone’s happy. That was the whole point of paying for the 30 GB tier. What actually happened: mid-January I paid for the 30 GB RAM + backups bundle. Backups were switched on after a bit, fine, but the server kept reporting 8 GB RAM, which is exactly the problem I paid to fix. I chased support, got bounced between several people, repeated the same details more times than I care to count, and mostly received canned replies or unrelated tips about game settings — not the billing/upgrade resolution I asked for. They did promise they'd credit extra days to make up for the delay, and an estimated 2–6 day window was mentioned, but that credit never showed up. After a couple of weeks the messages just stopped — radio silence. The practical fallout: more crashes, lower player caps, annoyed friends, and me having to babysit restarts. What I expect is simple: either apply the 30 GB RAM immediately, or refund the upgrade plus the prorated days I paid for but didn’t get, and actually add the promised extension. Also better ownership from support would help — don’t pass me around and then vanish. I’m a little hopeful because when the basics work the service is okay, but right now the lack of follow-through is a dealbreaker. Until they fix it or make good on the refund/comp, I can’t recommend using them for upgrades that you depend on.
