No activation code, no instant flip to premium — just an email asking to finish payment, which I already did. I hesitated to push the button at all, I’m picky about subscriptions after a couple of messy experiences with smaller vendors. I opened a support ticket, waited about two days, got a sensible reply and the account was switched over. Still annoying that it didn’t happen automatically, but the team fixed it and that eased my doubts. Will watch stability though.

Serviceit helped my music sound better, but the support side was frustrating. I bought Boom 3D a few years back and it delivers — more volume, tighter bass, and handy EQ presets for different genres. I started using it on an M1 Mac Mini running macOS 14.7.1 with desktop speakers plugged into the headphone jack, and I was pretty happy. Then I noticed that when I tap the volume keys on my Apple Magic Keyboard the sound just mutes instead of changing level, but only when Boom is running. Turn Boom off and the keys behave normally, so it points to Boom. I reached out to support, waited about ten days for a reply, got a suggestion to lock the output balance (didn't fix it) and after I said so they didn't follow up. They apologised when I asked about uninstalling but never asked why. Useful app, but the lacklustre support makes it annoying to keep.

It's really frustrating to not get the help I need from a company that claims to be all about customer service. I agree with other folks who aren't happy with the support they've gotten. Customers should feel like they matter and that they'll get help when they need it. Next time you're looking for software, I'd suggest checking out other options.

ServiceI just bought some new software from this company and man, I ran into some issues with it being stuck in trial mode. I used to really like their stuff, but I keep running into this pesky problem where I have to deauthorize the old account every time I switch computers. It's getting pretty frustrating, tbh. Last time this happened, their customer service was MIA so I ended up having to solve the problem on my own. I think I'm just gonna go back to using free software like Equalizer APO for now.
