I first saw this service in a Facebook ad and my sister even recommended giving the trial a whirl, so I signed up for the seven-day free thing. Pretty quick I realized I didn't want a long-term subscription and went looking for a simple cancel button — you know, what you'd expect. Nope. They asked me to email customer service, so I did. And then I did it again. Four times, actually. Each time all I got were automated replies asking for information I’d already sent (so annoying). The payment was scheduled for the next day and that’s when I finally felt satisfied — not because they helped, but because I’d called my bank, spent ages on hold, and ended up cancelling my card so the charge couldn’t go through. That moment of relief (finally) was huge; I could breathe again. Does the product itself do what it promises? Sort of — it’s decent for poking around my family tree, a bit clunky, not perfect, but it worked well enough for what I needed. The whole experience with customer service ruined it, though. If you try it, keep an eye on the trial end date and be ready to fight for a refund — or for me, cancel the card and move on.
