Then the revisions turned into endless nitpicky asks, lots of tiny edits that felt pointless, and the whole thing just stalled. I kept wondering if they really had the right reviewers — after a year they “invited” someone and then my engineering paper got reviewed by someone in earth sciences. That was the moment my doubts turned into irritation. So no, my worries before sending weren’t really soothed. I did like that the process looked professional on paper, and people on my forum recommended them, but the reality was slow and messy. Won’t recommend based on my run-in.
