Doorstep relief

each printed width ran about half an inch narrow (36" behaved like 35.5") and the lengths were a smidge short too, same on all five pieces, so if you're cutting things tight, plan for that. I also tried the wide 116" yard instead of three narrow cuts to save money; it was directional so I had to rethink layout, but it worked out. Delivery showed up on schedule despite nasty weather and customer support answered a quick question politely. Overall happy — good quality and service, just watch the measurements.

Almost perfect fabric, flaky delivery

Delivery

weighty, print sharp, colour matched the swatch — my first thought was "okay, that's actually really good." I did have to reach out once about a small registration issue and customer support handled it without drama, which I appreciated. That eased a lot of my doubts. Still, the shipping story is inconsistent: one order arrives in days, next one disappears into radio silence for weeks. The usual reply is that the carrier messed up, and yeah, that happens, but it feels like Spoonflower leans on that instead of owning production timelines. If you have a deadline, either plan extra time or pay for faster shipping — annoying, but true. Overall I'm glad I tried them, the fabric and support won me over, but I wish they'd be more reliable and transparent about turnaround.

Corners failed first, not the seat

Product

I didn’t expect to be writing this, but here we are. After being a fairly happy customer for their wallpaper, I ordered upholstery fabric based on their guidance — their Performance Velvet was on the recommended list for commercial use and the product page said it stood up to heavy wear (50,000 double rubs was the number given). So we used it on bar stool backs in a low-traffic home setting. Five months in the fabric had rubbed through at the corners. Just the corners, oddly enough, but that’s where it failed. Five months, light use, and visible breakdown.
I asked Spoonflower for replacement fabric so we could reupholster the backs. Their staff kept pointing to the purchase date (two years earlier) and insisting the fabric wasn’t intended for bar stools, which felt off since they had recommended it and labelled it commercial-grade. We’ve been trading emails for over a week and a bit — nine business days with no real resolution, and my last follow-up was sent three days ago. They do reply within a day or two, so responses are timely, but they haven’t offered anything that fixes the problem. So customer service is responsive in speed but not in helpfulness.
This is disappointing because I did have good experiences with their wallpaper, which is why I trusted their fabric recommendation. Still, this experience makes me cautious about using their upholstery fabrics for any high-use seating. I’m willing to absorb labour costs to have the chairs done, but I asked them to supply replacement fabric (I calculated about $1,430.03) — a compromise that seemed fair to me. If it isn’t sorted, I’ll escalate via my credit card, the FTC, or small claims. Not dramatic, just practical. Frustrating, yes, especially given the mismatch between product claims and what actually happened.
