I was looking through old photos of my grandma and got nostalgic, so I ordered the magazine they used to read. Seemed simple, but I woke up to two charges the same day — different amounts, which felt sketchy. Luckily I paid with PayPal and they said they'd refund the extra one; that surprised me, a good thing. Still, I'm shaken. For a company that touts Christian values, this felt off. I've had smoother experiences with other publishers, so I'm not sure I'll order again or even get first issue.

Right when the PayPal alert popped up I actually believed them. I’d ordered a small devotional at the end of October and by mid-January it hadn’t arrived, so I asked for a refund. After weeks of emails and calls I got different stories — refunded on Jan 14, refunded on Feb 11, now contact PayPal — which made me think they were passing the buck. I’ve had poor follow-up from other vendors before, so I was sceptical. Then on Feb 11 the credit finally hit my PayPal. That tiny ping was the moment I felt okay about the whole thing; dry, but sorted.

the books are still in a warehouse, they’ll ship in 4–6 weeks, and once I get them I can mail them back for a refund. So they’d already taken the money but I had to wait to receive and return merchandise before seeing my cash again. That process felt backwards and a bit unfair — why not just reverse the charge right away if it was a mistake?
I get that mistakes happen, and the person I spoke with was polite, but the policy and lack of heads-up annoyed me. For a faith-based organisation I expected clearer communication and a more straightforward fix. Not a great experience overall; it left me wary of ordering from them again.
