Waiting at Botany location
Waiting at Botany location
Service00, so they expected to be seen — but they ended up waiting about thirty minutes. There were two staff visible: one already with a customer, the other stood nearby then walked away. No one said hello, no eye contact, nothing, while new customers kept being greeted and helped right away. That gap in basic acknowledgement is what stuck with us — felt discriminatory and unprofessional. Oddly, the shop itself looked tidy and seating was fine, so not a mess. My advice: management should remind staff to at least acknowledge everyone. We’ll try Specsavers next time.
Bad start, small relief later

Servicedistance and near both wobble sometimes, and depth perception is off — things the doc barely mentioned. I paid $160 (yeah, that includes a surprise $20 for nodding to “astigmatism”) and expected better follow-up. The original optometrist left the clinic, the manager’s been slow and, frankly, evasive on the refund or a recheck, and emails took days. Living on ODSP makes every dollar matter, so this was frustrating. On the plus side, the lenses do work enough for daily errands and short commutes — not ideal, but usable. Overall, honest effort from the clinic but sloppy handling after the fact, and that’s what really bothered me.

ServiceMidway through the appointment I was already thinking maybe I should walk out — I hesitated to question the prescription, not wanting to make a fuss, but something felt off. I asked a straightforward question about the trial contacts and the optometrist at Bower Place in Red Deer got defensive right away. I tried to explain what I was seeing, and it just escalated; she dismissed me and basically refused to listen. I left feeling kind of annoyed and unsure if I should even try to get a refund. Luckily Bailey Nelson Canada stepped in after I pushed back and handled the refund without more drama, which calmed me down. So yeah, service at that specific location was rough, but the company made it right in the end. If you’re going there, be ready to stand your ground if things feel off, and keep your receipts. I’d still recommend the brand overall because the refund process worked, but avoid that particular optometrist — or at least go in prepared.
