Small print annoyed me
1 reviews
I signed up because my lower back was flaring and I wanted a proper program, after a bad experience elsewhere. I noticed the refund window disappears after a tiny bit of content. That felt misleading at first. Delivery of access was instant. Customer support replied quickly and cleared things up. I still think the policy could be clearer, but in the end I felt relieved and a bit satisfied.

Unexpectedly pleased — with a few quirks

check the account security settings first, before panicking like I did. Course content itself was the big win — crisp videos, practical examples, and some instructors who actually speak like humans rather than reading slides. I liked that there are now small AI-driven suggestions for practice quizzes; at first I thought “ugh, AI,” but it ended up flagging weak spots I hadn’t noticed, which was kind of neat. The app can stutter once in a while, and the layout feels busier than before, I won’t pretend it’s perfect. Still, I’m learning stuff I wanted to learn, and that’s the point. Price felt fair for what I got — often a deal if you wait for sales. If you’re on the fence like I was: try one course, give it a couple sessions, and be a little patient with settings and support. I’m glad I stuck with it.

Not what it used to be, but support saved the day

the product has problems, yes, but when delivery and service work, they actually sort things out. That counts for a lot.

Inbox tipping point

the platform made enrolling quick, the interface let me bookmark where I left off, and a couple of instructors actually showed practical demos that I could follow along with at home, which was exactly what I needed. The moment I knew I was actually satisfied came a few days in, but it wasn’t obvious at first — it was after a messy start and then one small, decisive fix. Here’s how it played out. At first I got flooded with repetitive messages from one instructor — like a stream of the same course link over and over — and that annoyed me. I get reminders, I do, but this felt like telemarketing in my inbox: the same push for each course I’d bought, sent in batches, every few days. It made me twitchy, and because I’m juggling a move and rehab for my back, I don’t have the patience for that kind of noise. I messaged support and, to my surprise, they actually responded reasonably quickly. They explained how instructors can reach out and gave me a control to mute or limit those messages. It wasn’t seamless — the first reply was a bit templated and I had to follow up — but once it was sorted the inbox quieted down and that’s when I felt relief. The other pivotal moment was finding an instructor who actually did live demos. After watching a few short clips where the teacher walked through a technique in real time, I remember thinking, ok, this is worth my time. I could pause, try it, and come back. That practical, real-time demonstration is what made the learning click for me. It wasn’t perfect: a few courses I sampled were monotone or overly focused on the instructor’s past stories instead of showing how to do things, and one course felt like a collection of anecdotes with almost no hands-on examples. That’s wasted time, and I wished there were clearer previews showing whether a course contains live demos or just lectures. Price-wise I got a couple of good deals during a sale, and for those the value was clear; for the full-price listings that felt inflated compared to the content, I passed. Refunds were possible within the 30-day window, but the process wasn’t instantaneous and required a few clicks and a short wait — not the worst, but not great if you want an immediate refund after deciding a course isn’t for you. So why did I keep using the platform after the rocky inbox and a few disappointing classes? Two reasons: the good instructors who actually taught things were excellent and the flexibility fit my situation — after a long physio session I could watch a short demo and try the exercise right then, without hopping in a car. Support fixed the messaging problem after I nudged them, and the refund option, while slightly slow, existed and got used for a course that was clearly not what was advertised. Bottom line: it’s a mixed bag. There are spammy instructors who push too hard and some amateur material that shouldn’t be sold at full price, but there are also knowledgeable teachers who explain and demonstrate in a way that helped me recover mobility and learn without leaving home. I’d recommend it if you need flexible, demo-heavy lessons and don’t mind vetting courses first. Expect to do a little trimming — check previews, look for live demos, and be ready to use support if someone gets overbearing. Not spotless, but once the inbox quieted and I found those hands-on videos, I was satisfied enough to finish two courses and plan another. I’d just like smoother message controls and clearer signals about the course format up front.

Difficulties with course streaming
8 reviews
The courses are hit and miss depending on the instructor, which can be annoying. It would be nice to have a filter for the lower quality ones. But my biggest problem is with the platform itself. The videos keep pausing, which is slowing me down. I can watch videos on other sites just fine, so I'm wondering if Udemy's servers aren't up to par.

Online course purchase

I was so pumped to buy this online course from this platform, but man, was I let down by their subscription plan. They advertised giving access to 11,000 courses, but when I bought it, I only saw 1-2 courses included and the rest you had to buy separately. Can you believe that? False advertising at its finest!

I just bought an online course, but I had trouble logging in. I emailed customer service for help, but all I got back was an automated message saying they were swamped. After a few days, I got another email assuming everything was fixed, but no details were given. It was a waste of money and really let me down.

Frustrating video player experience

I just finished this 40-hour online course and let me tell you, the video player was brutal. Even though my internet is solid, the videos kept freezing, buffering, and cutting out. I had to reload the page over and over again. It was such a pain and took up so much time. I was really let down by the whole thing and I won't be signing up for any more courses from them.

I bought a bunch of courses on Udemy recently and had different experiences with them. I like that they have lots of courses to choose from, like Blender, Unity, Unreal, keyboard, and painting. But some of them didn't meet my expectations. The good thing is that the refund process was fast and simple. I realized it's important to watch the preview videos and read the course descriptions carefully before buying to make sure it's what you're looking for.

Beginner level course purchase

My time with Udemy wasn't great at all, eh. I paid for a course for beginners, thinking it'd be good to begin with, but then figured out I actually needed the advanced one. Getting a refund was a real mess, and now I have credits in my account that I can't even use for cheaper courses. Feels like a bit of a scam, if you ask me.

I just bought this online course, but man was I not impressed with it at all. I tried hitting up customer service a bunch of times to get my money back, but no one got back to me. It wasn't until I had to open a dispute on PayPal that I finally got my cash back from these guys. The whole situation left me feeling pretty sour about their lack of communication and crummy customer service.

Python and SQL courses
30 reviews
I came across some Python and SQL courses on this online learning site that really helped boost my career. The material was top-notch and the cost was pretty reasonable. I suggest sticking to courses that other students rate highly and are on sale, as Udemy often has discounts that make the prices way more affordable. All in all, I think Udemy gives you good value for your money if you know how to make the most of it.

Udemy class

Eh, the class I finished up on Udemy was really informative and well put together. Even though I could've found similar stuff for free elsewhere, I actually liked having everything all in one place. Plus, being able to chat with a teaching assistant in the discussion section was a cool bonus that made the whole learning experience better.

Fraudulent Exam Papers

I can't believe how bold this company is. I paid for exam questions, but what I got was nothing like what I expected. It was a total scam. The questions were completely irrelevant and didn't match the actual exam's difficulty or content. I feel like they tricked me out of my money and I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.

First course purchase

I just bought my first course on sale, but it turned out to be too easy for me when I needed something more advanced. Udemy let me cancel the course and gave me a full refund, which was good. But now the credit is in my account and I can't use it to buy courses on sale. It feels like Udemy has my money for no reason and I'm unsure about buying anything at full price.

Bought lots of courses

There's a lot to learn on this site! If you put something on your wishlist, it magically goes on sale for $10 or $15. But trying to reach customer service is a real challenge and the app is pretty terrible. I suggest looking for courses elsewhere with a better app and easier viewing options.

Online course subscription

I was so disappointed with my online course subscription. I was really looking forward to taking the courses I saw on the main page, but unfortunately, none of them were actually part of the subscription. It felt like a bit of a trick, where the best courses needed to be bought separately. The courses that were included weren't very useful for everyday life. I just didn't feel like I was getting my money's worth.

E-learning platform experience
5 reviews
As someone who has experience in education, I was excited about the opportunity to share what I know on an online learning platform. But honestly, my time with it has been pretty disappointing. The people running the platform don't seem to know what they're doing, and it's made me feel like my work isn't valued and I'm not getting paid enough for it. I put a lot of work into making good courses, but the money I've made back has been pretty sad. It's sad to see a platform that used to be great for teachers not keeping their word.

I've had a great experience with the online courses I've bought from this site. They were easy to get into and the content was really good. I'd definitely suggest this platform to anyone wanting quality online courses. Even though some people have had bad experiences, mine has been totally positive.

I've been using Udemy for years now, mainly taking graphic design and coding courses. I really like how I can learn at my own speed and go back to any lessons I want. The fact that the courses never expire is a big plus for me, as I'm always trying to enhance my skills.
