Unexpected beer mail
Unexpected beer mail
Communicationgot a message saying August delivery because of the heat, which felt odd, but honestly the beer still hit the spot. Tip for them: a heads-up about rescheduling would be nice. Overall pretty happy and would gift it again, for sure.

ServiceBy the time the delivery window passed I was pacing the kitchen, coffee cooling — I'd ordered a set of mugs meant for daily use and as a birthday gift. The third-party carrier (Canpar) was impossible to reach, and Amazing Gifts Canada basically shrugged and said they couldn't help. Eventually the mugs arrived, they work fine and I'm using them every morning, but the back-and-forth and lack of real support made the whole thing a hassle. Not a total disaster, but far from smooth.

TasteI remember cracking the box open on the couch and feeling a bit annoyed — cardboard everywhere, sure. But then I grabbed an apple to taste, and for a second I was like, huh, that’s actually crisp and sweet. Not all the mangoes were great, a few were bruised, same old story, but enough were decent that I felt okay about it in the end. I’ve had worse from other grocers. So yeah, not perfect and price felt high, but that bite honestly convinced me.
Monthly small wins

CommunicationI keep forgetting which month it is until a small box turns up — that’s been the rhythm since I got the subscription as a birthday gift. It’s been handy for stretching what I cook and snack on (I try a thing or two while making dinner). One thing I do appreciate is the compostable packing peanuts; seems small but it feels better than plastic in the trash. I’ve had a couple of damaged items and a delayed parcel, but customer support sorted replacements quickly, no fuss. Mildred and Meagen handled the replies; polite and prompt. Overall useful to my everyday routine, slightly annoyed at the delays sometimes, but mostly satisfied.

Pricedon't buy this expecting value. I picked up three gift packages from Amazing Clubs for my son’s Christmas because a friend recommended them — I spotted them online and she said they're neat. First package, pancake breakfast, was underwhelming (I wrote about that already). Yesterday the fruit box showed up and honestly, it was worse: four apples and five oranges in a $60 box. Four apples and five oranges. My local grocery wouldn't charge that, maybe twenty-five tops. My son was polite but clearly unimpressed, and I felt a bit embarrassed giving it. Delivery was fine, packaging okay, but price versus content just didn't add up. I'll probably try customer service, but I'm not hopeful.
