Garlic mishap
As someone new to cooking, I had a bit of a mishap with the garlic in my last meal prep delivery. It would have been helpful to have a note or warning not to use the whole head of garlic that came in the package. My apartment now smells strongly of garlic and I'm pretty sure no vampires will be coming near for a while. Better instructions or a smaller amount of garlic would have saved me from this smelly situation!
Healthy meals for picky kids
My family (2 adults, 1 teen, 1 preteen) has been really enjoying these meals! It was always a struggle to get my kids to eat their veggies, but now they eat everything without complaining, even the veggies! My 15-year-old son is even interested in cooking the meals himself to improve his skills in the kitchen. The recipes are easy to follow, so it's a fantastic opportunity for him to learn.
Food box for family dinners
This food box is great for my family because we get to test out new recipes we wouldn't normally think of. The instructions are easy to follow and the meals always turn out delicious. It's really handy that we can easily change or skip deliveries when we want. Plus, it's affordable which is an added bonus!
Portion sizes good, menu choices a bit lacking
The sizes of the meals from Chefs Plate are actually not bad. They're not too tiny or too huge. But I kinda wish there were more choices for Canadian-style dishes and a wider range of veggies, not just green beans and corn. It's been decent up to now, but not amazing.
Meal delivery service
The food options from this meal delivery service are always amazing, with a ton of variety to pick from. But I gotta say, I was pretty bummed when my box arrived on a Tuesday and the expiry date was for Friday. That meant the ingredients went bad before I could even use them, and that's super annoying. The prices are a little steep, especially if you don't have any discount codes, and it sucks even more when the food ends up wasted because of the short expiry dates.
I ordered family-friendly pescatarian recipes but received a box with all meat dishes.
I was pretty let down when I got my order and it didn't match up with my dietary preferences. I tried to change my settings, but couldn't figure out how to talk to someone from customer service. It was annoying that I couldn't fix the problem and get the recipes I wanted.
Chickpea and sweet potato stew
Eh, so the meal I got was this chickpea and sweet potato stew, right? And let me tell you, it was a breeze to whip up. The flavors were top-notch, and the stew was really filling. Only thing is, my vibe was kind of ruined 'cause they forgot to include a key ingredient - 400mls of coconut milk. Had to make do with cow's milk instead, and I'm pretty sure it messed with the taste. Still, I dug into the meal and I'm crossing my fingers that the next one in my box is fully loaded and tasty.
