Wrong numbers, right outcome
Wrong numbers, right outcome
ServiceI spotted the Dadar East store while walking back from the train station. It looked fine. I’d been in India for six weeks and already wear glasses from the UK Vision Express. I booked an appointment because I wanted two pairs of bifocals with transition lenses and to double-check my UK prescription. The staff insisted on re-testing me. Fine, I thought. The results were way off. My UK reading prescription is 2.5. They gave me 1.5. Distance numbers were different too. I felt something was wrong. I left and went into the shop next door on a hunch. Their test matched my UK numbers. That was the moment I knew I was actually satisfied — not with the original branch, but with the fact I hadn’t accepted those faulty specs. It meant I avoided paying for expensive glasses that wouldn’t have worked. The staff at Dadar East used pushy sales tactics, and I didn’t like how they treated me. I’ve been on both sides of sales, so I noticed it. It’s not all bad though. The equipment seems fine, just the process and attitude at that branch are questionable. I told a colleague about my experience so they wouldn’t make the same mistake. I’ll leave a review for others too. Not perfect. Still, I’m relieved I checked twice and didn’t end up with unusable glasses.
Fast delivery, poor follow-up
Fast delivery, poor follow-up
Follow-uplight, the frame colour was spot on and they felt comfortable right out of the box. I got two pairs and paid a fair bit for what the optician called higher-end lenses. Within about six weeks I noticed three parallel scratches on one lens. That’s the part that annoyed me — I really baby my stuff, so I was surprised and puzzled. Took them back to the shop expecting at least a replacement lens or an apology, but staff were polite and then curt: apparently “scratch resistant” doesn’t mean scratch proof and they wouldn’t cover it. I complained to head office and got basically the same answer. On the plus side, delivery itself was prompt and the packaging looked neat, so it wasn’t late. Still, the whole customer service loop felt like a shrug; for the money I’d at least expect a better warranty response. I’m left wondering whether the lenses are just low quality or if something happened in transit, but either way I won’t be ordering another pair from them soon.
