Slick sign flow, awful follow-up

Follow-up

Bottom line — don’t count on their e-sign verification. I first ran into this service on a legal-forms website and, because the signing experience felt so smooth, I even told a colleague to try it. Turns out that niceness is mostly skin-deep. I signed a contract and later one of the other parties denied ever signing. I asked customer support to confirm on their side; they punted me to the legal team. The legal team then said they won’t confirm anything unless I serve a court subpoena and pay about $500 in lawyer processing fees. Yes, really. That was a surprise — not the “wow, great” kind. What’s odd is the product itself looks professional and the audit UI seems tidy, so I assumed an easy audit trail like other services would show. But they won’t let you see or get a verification of their own record without turning it into a legal transaction. They keep citing privacy, but I wasn’t asking for other peoples’ personal files, just verification that their system shows the other party signed. It felt like being blocked until I opened my wallet. I’m not saying forgery happened, but hiding basic signer verification like that makes you wonder how safe it really is. I told my lawyer and a couple contacts to avoid their e-sign for anything important unless you’re prepared for a legal hassle.

Thought it was a one-off, turned into a recurring charge

Price

I apparently picked a plan that had a 7‑day free trial and then rolled into a $49.99/month charge. I honestly thought I’d paid for one month only, didn’t use the account after getting the form (didn’t even log back in), and then noticed multiple charges later. Calling support didn’t help much. The rep stuck to the policy ("you signed up for it") and said they only ever refund one month in credit. That felt pretty blunt — no real attempt to look at account usage or be flexible. After that I did a bit of digging and found a bunch of similar complaints, so I guess I should’ve checked reviews first (lesson learned). So: the service works for what it’s supposed to do, but the billing and the way trials are presented need to be clearer. If you try them, take screenshots of the option you select and read the fine print on trial renewals. I’m not saying don’t use them, just be careful — and don’t expect much leniency if something goes sideways.
