Wrong size, nice feel

Returns & Refunds

decent weight, good lining and tidy seams, which made the mix-up extra frustrating. I tried it on at home and left it in the hallway while I started dealing with customer service, and then the back-and-forth began: photos requested, some deemed inadequate, repeat requests. After about two weeks they asked me to return it at my expense to a US address (around £15) or accept a partial refund. They first offered 40% then later increased it to about £70 (roughly 65%), which I accepted — better than hauling it back, but still out of pocket. Small surprise: the fabric felt unexpectedly nice.

Kitchen unboxing surprise

Service

I unboxed this dress in my kitchen while the dog stared, totally skeptical. Ordered it as a last-ditch after another bridesmaid dress arrived and didn't fit; AW shipped a custom version with pockets (yes, pockets) and asked a bunch of solid measurement questions so we didn't have to guess. They replied quickly, kept me updated and were actually helpful — real people, not canned replies. Two weeks after ordering it showed up, I tried it on and it fits—like, actually fits—size 22/24 for reference, I'm 5'9". Packaging was neat; there was a small crease I steamed away, no drama. Wore it to the wedding; it held up, looked great, and didn't cost more than the dud I first bought. Grateful it all worked out.

Almost perfect — and happy about it

stress and a busy few months before the wedding usually mean I drop a bit of weight, so by June 2025 it should sit just right. I did my homework — read all the other reviews, rechecked the numbers, and that’s what gave me confidence. The style is exactly what I wanted, flattering without being fussy, and the fabric feels good too. If you’re on the fence, my tip is to trust the measurements and give yourself a timeline — it helped me not panic. Feeling quietly excited and a little relieved; this is my first pick for my daughter’s day.

Finally found the one (without selling a kidney)

Price

I was standing in a tiny, too-bright fitting room feeling kind of defeated when I remembered this dress. Weird how that works — one minute you're telling yourself to be reasonable, the next you're scrolling and seeing something that actually makes you smile. I'm a curvy bride on a budget and had been bounced around four different bridal shops where every pretty thing was priced well over what we can justify. I told them $800–$1,000 and still they put me in gowns closer to $1,500+. Not cool. So yeah, initial vibes were low — overly high hems and even higher price tags. Been there, sighed that sigh.

Kitchen-fitting epiphany

Product

the zipper at the back made this weird tail of fabric that sticks up, like you’ve got a little hump. Had to take it to a seamstress right away. That was the part that irked me most, because I’d already paid for a “custom” measurement and still needed alterations. The sizing was off in places I didn’t expect (waist too loose, bust weird), so more pinning, more hemming, more money. On the plus side, the colour was actually pretty much what we ordered, which was a surprise and mildly comforting — at least that part didn’t derail the whole thing. Customer service felt slow and the return rules are annoying (you pay to send it back and there’s a restocking fee, seriously). If you like taking risks and sewing bills, maybe give it a shot. But my advice: for something important like bridesmaid dresses, hit a local bridal shop or at least budget for alterations. Learned my lesson the pricey way, sadly.
