This product, amongst many others, are not regulated sufficiently by the American FDA, and some of their products actually have testable amounts of lead and cadmium in them. The Superfood powder is about $56 a can, which is supposed to be a monthly supply. The problem is, most of the vitamins that are in Superfood can be obtained from much cheaper sources, and most people won't notice the difference unless they don't eat food very often. All of the B vitamins can be obtained via meat, dairy, nutritional yeast, bread or fortified breakfast cereals, and the rest of them can be found in beans and vegetables / fruit.

What's more, this product contains spirulina sourced from green algae, which if not properly inspected and tested, could contain harmful bacteria and/or negative side effects due to an improper dose of ingredients.

For example, Spirulina / blue-green algae should not exceed 8mg per dose per day for an average healthy adult. Any more than that risks liver toxicity, to say nothing of the heavy metals that may be present in it, again, untested by the FDA since this is a supplement.

The algae may be helpful in controlled doses, but it should only be taken by itself and sourced from a tested, proven distributor that ensures it stays within healthy limits and has been deemed safe by the FDA.

Safe to say, I won't be buying this again. It's important to pay very close attention to which supplements you buy, if any, and double-check its ingredients and the company producing the supplement. There's a reason these products are supposed to be regulated more strictly.
