Holiday letdown, honestly
Holiday letdown, honestly
ComplaintsI had the truck stashed for Christmas and the kids were really excited, so opening the boxes and finding cracked parts was a real bummer. I contacted them on Dec 24 and by Feb 3 we're still getting the same canned reply about "escalation" and "please be patient" — over and over. They did send a box after three weeks but it didn't include any of the parts we actually needed, which felt pointless. The dump bed was almost split in half, so the ride-on can't do what it's made for. They then said no more shipments and offered a partial refund; we declined because a partial refund doesn't fix a broken toy that can't dump. What sticks with me is the customer service — just terrible follow-through and very generic responses, like they don't actually read your messages. I filed a BBB claim (they have an F rating) and kept all photos and cartons, which I recommend you do if you buy from them (though I wouldn't). I get mistakes happen, but the way they handled it made a holiday gift go sideways and left us frustrated. If you want a working toy and less hassle, shop elsewhere.
Finally working, but what a hassle

Servicetest batteries right away, record everything and don't let them fob you off. Glad it finally worked, but it shouldn't have taken so long.

CommunicationI wouldn’t buy from them again. The machine showed up looking okay, but it turned into a weeks-long annoyance rather than a simple return or replacement. I bought a kids’ wood lathe for my son and the spur centre was basically stuck solid — we followed the manual to the letter, tried the usual taps and wiggles, nothing. A buddy who’s used lathes before popped over and pointed out the tailstock drifted under power, which made the whole thing feel unsafe, so we put it away right away. I asked for a return and that’s where it got messy: they insisted on a video of the fault before accepting anything. Fine, I made one, but their communication was all over the place. I was told multiple times an email would arrive in 24–48 hours; half the promised messages never showed up, so I had to call back and repeat the same story. At one point they gave me a phone number to send the video to, but it didn’t accept the file so I had to call again to confirm receipt — and yup, another “you’ll get an email” line that didn’t land. Eventually they said they wouldn’t refund because the purchase was through Walmart — despite me giving the order number from the start. I’ve dealt with returns at other companies and usually it’s cleaner, so this felt amateurish. The lathe itself might have been usable if the tailstock wasn’t dodgy, but that’s not something you risk with a kid’s toy. Not perfect, not broken in every way, but the customer service and the safety issue are what sealed it for me. Save yourself time and buy somewhere with clearer support.

Qualitythe wine rack slots aren't ideal, you have to prop bottles a bit differently than you'd expect or they'll slide, which is annoying. Packing it back up after the flood would have been a nightmare, so I get why I didn't return it. I now use the top as a coffee-and-morning-toast station on weekdays and as a little drink prep area when friends drop by on weekends, so it's actually being useful in everyday life. The finish hides a couple of scuffs, which was a pleasant surprise, and that helped me forgive the rest. Not perfect, and service could be faster, but seeing it actually work in my daily routine — that was the turning point.

Follow-up
On a slow afternoon I opened the box expecting a handy adjustable oil drainer for doing quick jobs in my garage—needed it because my back's been acting up and I wanted to avoid crouching. The unit looked okay at first but the height adjustment was basically useless; barely any travel, nothing like the range shown on the site. It was listed as pneumatic and manual which made no sense once I inspected it—no hoses, no gauges, no inlet valve, and the outlet is tiny so it needs pressure to work properly. That mismatch is the big issue for me, and I kept thinking why advertise it that way.
I tried to get proper operating instructions and eventually asked for a refund. They replied once, I sent payment details right away, then the replies stopped. Returns dragged on, I sent it to the first address they gave and it got bounced back because the address was wrong. They gave a new address and I paid for shipping again; the purchase was refunded but not the two return postage costs, and now they’ve gone quiet. There’s a little enthusiasm left because the purchase itself was affordable, but the aftercare and the misleading specs soured the whole thing. I’ll probably look elsewhere next time.
