Nice start, sour finish
Nice start, sour finish
ProductI almost didn't buy a third‑party battery. I was worried it would die fast — you hear those stories. I installed it about three years ago and followed iFixit's steps exactly. First few months were great. Battery life felt solid and the laptop woke up with a bit of pep. Then around month eighteen it slowly stopped holding charge and eventually gave up. Warranty had already expired. So my original doubt came back. It served me well for a while and was easy to fit, but long‑term? Not great. If you want worry‑free, go OEM.

DeliveryI actually spotted the replacement battery on a tech forum, a buddy nudged me to try iFixit since I wanted to DIY. The install went fine, so that was great — but the delivery was a mess. UPS tried to be helpful but didn’t ring the bell and the driver told me to pick it up, only to find iFixit hadn’t cleared pickup with them. Support was sloooow, I had to chase a few times. Still, the moment I saw my Pixel boot to 100% on its own again — that was the payoff. Not perfect, not seamless, and yeah I lost time, but the battery works and saved me a trip to a shop.

ProductI actually needed these parts because both my Xbox controllers started serious stick drift — I game every night and couldn't wait, so I ordered three identical modules. The listing said “used,” which made me pause, and yeah I was skeptical, but the items arrived really fast and packaged fine. Sadly, all three gave up within a week, broke the same way the originals did, and that was frustrating and a little embarrassing after I spent time installing them. That said, customer support replied quickly, offered a refund and return label without too much hassle, so while the parts were a flop, the delivery and service redeemed the purchase somewhat.

Serviceperformance feels legit. Told a friend about it and she ordered the same. Bottom line: not painless, but worth it if you want to avoid paying Apple or rolling the dice

ProductI spotted this battery when a colleague mentioned his MacBook still ran through meetings without hunting for an outlet — so I gave it a try. I’d replaced a cheaper unit about six months earlier (half the price) and it went on the fritz, so I figured paying more might actually mean something. Installing it is straightforward if you’ve done it a time or two — I’m annoyingly getting good at this now — and it sits flush, no weird gaps or heat issues so far. After a full charge the indicator said a bit over four hours; to test I put on a movie and kept rewinding it to keep the drain steady. In my test the machine ran between six and six and a half hours before shutting down. That matches what I needed, so I’m pleased. I can’t say how many years it’ll last yet, but initial feel and performance are solid and I’m glad I swapped. If it holds up I’ll be properly relieved (and I’ll try to update this down the road).
